Pyroar, though, is easy to read. This is obviously a difficult topic for him. He looks very sad. His mane droops. He fidgets one paw against the other and his heat decreases a lot. He makes himself feel a little better by sneering at Beldum.

"...so you do feel abandoned..."

Nathan gives the big lion a hug to try and comfort him and calm him down.

"...I understand that it's hard, feeling alone.  I understand that it can be hard to move on.  Hard to trust.  I...had a lot of issues with that myself.  Still do, sometimes, I suppose."

"...I didn't have very many friends a long time ago.  Never really seemed to fit in.  I minded my own business most of the time as well.  I...was afraid I'd be hurt if I tried to get out there.  I felt alone for a long, long time...until I met who would become my best friend in the whole wide world.  Someone...who was also abandoned, I guess you could say.  Things got a lot better after I found someone I could truly be friends with."

Nathan then looks Pyroar in the eyes, trying to gauge his reaction to this simplified story.

This story helps, but Pyroar has a feeling the best friend is another Pokemon. And he's definitely wary of opening up to any Pokemon.
