Its better to use Extreme Speed and discover they have it, then don't use it at all if they don't and just have them out speed you naturally. ES on Raphael is only barely weaker than an Air Slash after a Nasty Plot, and using Aura Sphere is a risky play overall if Raphael can't survive a hit or two.

You're not wrong on that, dear. And priority against a foe that's rather fast is fine way to bypass their speed indeed. The drawback is that it's less accurate because Shiva's better at channeling energy than brawling, and it'd kinda kill of the bonus of Expert Belt. *more pondering*

I hope you also like Raphael's first Suprise of maybe one or two more!~ I've been allowed to convert the Evasion one back into XP.

Oh yeah, I remember you deliberately let your Brawl Specialty lag behind foreeeever, and you are leaning heavily on an Item to make up for damage. Guess that's a consequence of your character specializing in other areas, eh?

You can go for a Channel attack ,but the problem with that is that Linoone could have a Slash or Fury Swipes to completely destroy Raphael if the archangel is REALLY unlucky if ES isn't used to get some damage in. If it uses ES, it at least doesn't use Multihit move or a High Crit one, but it will still hit like a truck. I say its better to take the risk of missing an ES and getting ahead of the furry speedster, and then switch over to using Aura Spheres if they DO start have ES and spams it to keep its lead. Assuming that Raphael can survive long enough, of course.

Yeap! You could have also used the XP to perhaps get a pre-evo Move, but a Surprise like that is just as good imo!
