And when it's finally time to move on, that's when Nathan will finally release Ray and reveal him to Heart and Shiva.  Given he's rather rocky for a Bulbasaur (and not the prettiest flower in the field), that oughta certainly be a surprise...(and I'm definitely interested in seeing how Shiva and Heart initially react to him without any further information from Nathan).
