I...actually did not know that. I always thought that the Scims or someone connected to them called the Rangers, not Old Doc. Guess wasn't clear to me at the time. Either that, or my memories of those events have gotten hazy as a Competitive Toxapex. 

Huh. 

Still don't like or trust the Cheshire League Authority all that much outside of explicitly staying on their side/out of their sights, but guess that's more of my cynasism for them talking at this point...

Yeah...you kinda set yourself up for how that situation ended.  One of the things the Rangers mentioned was they got two calls, the first one from an anonymous source, the second from the victim.  And given that there were only two people in the nearby area that weren't party members, there's only one person that could have made the anonymous call.  So while the Mega Pinsir Trainer did call the rangers, it was the innocent bystander that was the trigger that fired the smoking gun created by blending too much OOC knowledge with IC.  The fact that Sage made off with the incriminating Pinsirite didn't help matters any, either.

Objectively speaking, to an IC outsider with no knowledge of the situation, it looked entirely like you shot first at some random dude who was passing by, asked questions later.  And there was little to no proof in the aftermath that at least some of those IC choices were justified.
