Effective healing potions exist, the spray bottles look very different though. 

Pay Day loot is absolutely fine, and looks very much like the currency of the King's Era. 

Tears of Milotic will need to be crafted before being valuable, but as gems they also maintain their value in any era. 

The Engineer's Corps, as you will soon discover this group's identity to be, will have fairly standardized prices for their servant Pokemon. I don't think Terra has the skills to earn enough to buy a Bunnelby just from that, not with a standard contest performance. Especially since this is the era of the grandiose and fabulously wealthy. You're welcome to try; I could have my mind changed.

One of these bred and trained Bunnelby would be about $2500 in 2017 dollars/Pay Day money. An Egg, $1500. 

You could battle for that value, but you'd need some kind of collateral in case you lost. (and they aren't going to be dumb enough to send a lone Diggersby against a Haryima, I tell you that).

Welp, there goes that idea. Oh well, at least that means if we are stuck in King's Era for awhile we ain't without a source of first aid in a bottle.

Concerning Meowth's Pay Day, has he been with Terra long enough to cough up that $1000 Poke amt, and if so, could a Flashback Scene with Heart occur that has them double that payout with his Amulet Coin? They DID tell Terra all about that and gave permission, after all.

Given the no doubt time crunch (heh) that the group has in the past, farming and Crafting enough valuable Tears of Milotic would be too costly. That idea is a miss for now.

No contest then! I don't do longshots, especially if its bluntly stated it will be so!

Could a Max Potion (Explanation for look: 'Got bored, made it look different as challenge') be traded for a bred and trained HA Bunnelby, along with Pay Day muns?

Hmm......don't really have all that much collateral on me right now, save for Items I really don't want to sell and Pokemon (Definately not going to sell), so a battle is out. How about manual labor, or some menial task they can't be arsed to do to cover part of the cost?
