Training one to that point - let alone building the necessary Loyalty and Happiness needed for the kingmaker to pledge fealty towards Heart - is too much trouble and effort for what its worth at this point in the game. Plus, you can't even use it in Gym and Elite Four battles, which to my mind is both a waste and a darn shame, as those are the fights where one get the most payoff + satisfaction using the spectral sword n' shield. Against Bo.....well, no way knowing for sure exactly how much help it will be, but given my experience with Plot Device Encounters I don't have exactly the highest hopes it will make a grand impact against the champ.
That leaves Aegislash only for wailing on wandering Trainers, Wild Pokemon, and baddies, and while that would be cathartic fun, ask yourself this mate: Is it really worth it for just those scenarios, instead of simply training and improving your existing Pokemon for future conflicts of most any kind?
Or you could just let Spiritmon play this how he wants to. He doesn't have to optimize every little thing. And he'll be able to get a loooooot of use out of it as a Honedge/Doublade before (and if) it evolves. By the time it becomes an Aegislash, we'll probably be done with most (if not all) of the gyms.
Aegislash probably isn't legal for the Champion fight either, btw. League official battle and all that. And it's pretty much a given that you won't be able to swap pokemon in between Elite 4 battles, which Aegislash definitely isn't legal in. I suppose you could technically go in with an Aegislash and not use it until the Champion battle...but that doesn't answer the question about whether you can (or should) use it in the Champion battle in the first place.
