You know guys, while I was reading some Pokedex, I look at the Ampharos Pokedex and flow a eyebrow in his Mega Ability: Mold Breaker. I think myself: "What the hell? With so many abilities, why choose such move?"

Then I realized: Ground and Fairies. Ground Pokemon are immune to Electric attacks and Fairy to Dragons. And since Ampharos know those two types of moves, I now understand his Mega Ability who can make hit both of them with Electric and Dragon Attacks against both of them.

Its a complete random info and epiphany but I thought in share that experience.

I think Game Freak makes Abilities and movesets with 'flavor and theming' as the primary consideration instead of 'usefulness'.  I think they gave M-Ampharos Mold Breaker because of the added Dragon type.  Seems like a suitable Ability flavor wise to me, tbh.  And it has its uses, such as ignoring Sturdy, Wonder Guard, Lightning Rod, Multiscale, etc.

The whole 'ignore type immunities' effect of the Ability is exclusive to pokerole.
