Then fleeing South is no option, as by no means I'd like to encounter that Deoxy or it's clones, least of all attempting to battle it. :o 

If I'm looking at the map of the region and mentioned directions right, both northward and eastward are the mountains of the Great Divide, which are an obstacle on it's own that we'd have to pass if that'd be the decision. Though me feels anything that'd slow us down on fleeing could rather quickly be fatal, so by classical procedure of exclusion only fleeing westward would work as there is only taiga/future savannah. Or we could attempt following this mentioned ice cave which is close by anyway and where we'd meet Spira again?
