This is definitely not something anyone would have expected. Deoxys...it's a strange creature. A Mythical Legend that very, very little is known about, even in modern times. It's behaviors are generally unlike that of any other pokemon in existence, with only a scarce few similarities. Reports of it clashing with Rayquaza in the ozone layer are scarcely reported, and even more scarcely confirmed.
Nathan knows of this strange, alien pokemon...but he doesn't know exactly what it's capable of beyond being a very, very powerful Psychic type reportedly able to shift its form to adapt to any situation.
When his PTC starts pulsing, Nathan has a good guess as to what that entails...he's all action right now, trying to set aside just how scared he is to try and get everything in order. Someone needs to take charge here, or the chaos might draw unnecessary attention. Gallade remaining calm himself is a big reason why Nathan is able to do so himself, and it certainly shows.
"Everyone, it seems like another lurch is going to happen soon...Calam, Dizzy, we need you both to calm. Down. We need to hide until the lurch gets us out of here. Or run. Or something. If those Deoxys spot us, we're going to be in big, big trouble, so we need to not bring any undue attention to ourselves. We'll figure something out."
Step one: calm the two Absol down so they don't attract Deoxys's attention. Hopefully.
Step two: head count. Shiva...Terra...Heart...where's Spira? Nathan looks around and presumably spots him still on the mountain, up where the Magcargo were/still are(?)...hmmm...
Step three: potential avenues of escape and places to hide. Deoxys to the south. Tall grass blocking the east, and it's growing too rapidly to clear a path through it with any amount of speed unless they burn it all and draw attention to it. Mountains to the north. That leaves two options: either they flee to the west...or they try and hide in the mountains, probably in the caves.
Running to the west is across entirely open ground, though...there'd be nowhere to hide if they were caught running...and Deoxys might be able to cut them off with the tall grass, too...and Terra would need a mount in order to keep up with everyone else...and Spira's still on the mountain...and it's a little suspicious that it's the only direction that Deoxys isn't blocking...though maybe that's just because there weren't any wild pokemon running in that direction initially...
All in all, running to the west doesn't seem like a spectacular idea to Nathan. Heart's suggestion that they try to hide in the cave and collapse the entrance...hmmm...
"...if we collapse the entrance, Deoxys might notice, Heart. I don't think it would have any trouble tossing the rubble aside with its Psychic powers. Hiding in the cave as is might be a better bet than trying to run across open ground, though. I don't think Deoxys has noticed us yet, and we should probably keep it that way. I can't imagine it intends to do anything pleasant with the creatures it's corralling..."
Of course, the cave has its own disadvantages. If a Deoxys clone checks it, there's nowhere to run, and everyone in it would be sitting ducks. But hiding in the cave is probably a lot easier than trying to avoid the wandering gazes of the Deoxys clones on the open ground...
(OOC, I think the general consensus is to try hiding in the cave? If Shiva wants to evolve P-Eevee into a P-Glaceon, we kinda have to go into the cave, Heart suggested the cave IC...)
