[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(10-25-2018, 11:03 AM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Question, @Iron: does the Fairy move I pick for Calam have to be one that's listed in the book?  (my assumption is yes, but clarification never hurts)

And is it possible I could also get a slightly more detailed description of the strange, lizardlike pokemon?

EDIT: And while I'm thinking about it, how many Shieldon and Bastiodon are linked via threads?  1 of each, or are there more?

Yes, has to be in the book, of course.

The lizardlike Pokemon is brown and yellow, with purple highlights, and very close to the ground. It looks lumpy and grumpy. Definitely a rock type but you aren't sure what other type it might have.

There is one each of Shieldon and Bastiodon, which is all that was visible during this scene. Since this is a myth, it stands to reason that other Shieldon and Bastiodon etc were granted the same gift as the ones that were actually in Jirachi's presence. This isn't a Noah's Ark situation. It's more like a Just So story, if you've ever read one of those. How The Elephant Got Its Trunk.

Nathan's power only affects characters that have been bonded with in some way, so you can normally bypass it with a Pokeball capture, or just by grabbin' a Pokemon like Farfetch'd. This is a bit of a special situation though - Terra has a bond with Shieldon because both were granted a gift of Steel, for example.
Just a little OOC information that will help you to know Nathan won't have too much power over Pokemon selection.
