Never heard about those codes, but I imagine it'll be a nightmare for anyone but a proffesional. How long will it take for them to get the job down? And when's your ETA for moving into your cozy new home?
There are building codes for everything, and you don't get much choice about following them. The only way around it is to have a house on wheels. Most are reasonable things that any builder should be doing anyway - don't cross your utilities, make sure all wood exposed to the elements has been treated, don't make tiny little rooms that twist through a fourth spatial dimension full of witches. But there are thousands of these codes and it's really hard for a layman to meet them without hours of research.
