The front forelegs are a little dirty, because it uses them to walk. Doesn't look like the Pokemon does much tunneling or anything like that though. 

The lizard eats all your honey and warms itself up near Rapidash. It ignores the dry food. It's treating you rather impersonally.

Hmmm...

"...now that I look at it, your front legs are looking a little dirty there.  I could clean them for ya if ya like, make 'em look a little spiffier.  Shouldn't be difficult.  No water involved, promise.  I've got the perfect tool for the job."

If the lizard doesn't have any complaints, Nathan will attempt to make those legs shine a little using that Fluffy Carbink Collar he got on the way out of Mt. Sentry.

That tool works very well for the job.

The fossil Pokemon's forelegs now gleam the color of gold.

This is also the first time the Lizard has had a more personal reaction - he starts admiring his legs, and seems to understand you have made them purtier than he could have done himself.
