[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Given Terra's protective tendencies and how useful you've seen the move is whenever Ditto, Geigeroach, and Airmid have used it (drastically reducing/outright nullifying incoming damage consistently), I'm kinda surprised that move alone wasn't a major consideration at first.

Also, 5 Str, STAB, 6 Power Head Smash is scary if you can land it.  REALLY scary.

Hey, I'm not always the most aware of this sorta thing, so kudos to you for pointing it out! Also, Bastiodon gets Metal Sound and Taunt for even more fun and annoyance, and Block is also helpful if we want to prevent baddies or certain Pokemon from escaping (Like the Scims!)

Yeap, that's a right terror to behold, ESPECIALLY if amped up with either a Hard Stone or Life Orb (The later's Recoil add on doesn't matter with that Move in particular). Max Damage for the Move without a Helping Hand or STR Buff would be either 13 or 14 Damage (Up to 15 with both STR Badges!), depending on which Items you use.

HOWEVER, Bastiodon will be suffering from the same damage as his opponent, so its sorta a suicide attack or last resort unless that much raw power is REALLY needed (Like against a Legendary weak to Rock, as I don't care how much Plot Devices it has, an SE Move with THAT much power backing it up will at least do a little harm to it) . I'm actually more likely to spam Ancient Power as its Rock STAB, since its still has good power without braining them in the process.

No, if you want to see true power, look no further than its Heavy Slam. Given how HEAVY it is, and the fact that Terra's Man of Steel status grants it + 1 STAB on its Steel Moves, the max. total Damage it can output with/without at Life Orb is STR + 5 + STAB X 2 = 12 - 15 Damage. Which is only slightly less powerful than HS, but without LO it does that damage without Recoil. Iron Head is also nasty stuff, as its practically a STR + 5 Move due to Double Stab and the chance for Flinching it has. Then you add in either Sandstorm or Metal Sound (Or both), and things just get that much worse for whatever is fight against it.

Problem is that it has horrible weakness to Fight and Ground types, and a not as bad but still not good weakness to Water, but beyond that its not too bad of a Pokemon at ALL. Plus, it can maybe learn Fissure or Guard Split (Ah yes, those moves can Help Pokemon too!) in the future, so even better!
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
