1925 cash is also fine, no modifications needed. I have a bill from 1982 in my wallet right now, so I think 40 years is perfectly reasonable. If you wind up with any 1960's cash, it will still be accepted in 2017, though that's about as old as money gets.
You need to find a way to cover up one line of printing on the cash from 2017 to use it in 1960 - a spill, a clipped corner, or even just putting your thumb over it and finding a way to distract the cashier until she puts it in the register. Then it's someone else's problem!
Yes, there's a bit of a resemblance between the baby and Nathan/Oscar. I would say maybe hair and eyes?
The folks on TV all seem very dismissive of the idea of an alien wandering out of the desert into Charring Cross.
