Looking at Medicham, you see a large variety of expressions flicker over his face: interest, curiosity, and lots of concern. You don't think Medicham is reading your verbal thoughts or your memories - rather, he's gathering impressions and predicting what you will do based on what he finds within your mind. And he thinks he can do something about it.

Medicham gestures to the road below, where your party is wandering about. Then he gathers up Terra onto his back and leaps down to the road with the large man! Looks like Medicham wants to be introduced to the others you travel with.
