[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(11-25-2018, 05:19 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Oh, I've had that suspicion that Dizzy/Calam were one and the same ever since it was brought up the location of their scar, and their desire to remain in the past to conduct their own investigations. Also explains why Calam has always been so fascinated with Dizzy, seeing as they are a younger version of himself.

Ding ding ding!  That's when I figured it out too.  At first, however, I asked which eye was scarred purely out of curiosity, not because I thought that they might be one and the same.

Iron said it was the left eye.  And he also said they were matching scars.  At first, I thought, 'Oh cool.  Similar scars.  Another reason for Calam to be close to Dizzy.'

But then I started thinking about it a little more.

When Calam and Dizzy first met, and how Iron PMed me specifically to say he'd control Calam's reactions in that scene.  (yes, he did do that).  How eager he was to meet the young Absol.

How Dizzy didn't know any moves that Calam hadn't started with.  How they had the same Ability.

How when asked about their purpose, they both turned to face North, towards the location where the Almanac Lab/Scimitar Base was being built.  And to some extent, also how Calam reacted around the Scimitars in general.

How Calam didn't want to be bonded to just Nathan with the apricorn ritual.

And the final nail in the coffin was when I PMed Iron earlier to ask how similar Dizzy's scar was to Calam's.  And he responded that they looked exactly the same, obviously.

Dizzy IS Calam.  His existence in the timeline is entirely circular up until the point where Dizzy leaves the party in 2014 to go do his job of infiltrating Almanac's operations, a chance that he cannot possibly turn down.

What we don't know is what happened in the 3 years between Dizzy leaving the party and Calam joining Nathan and Kirlia on their adventures.

Superpower's damage dice came REALLY close to causing a paradox.  And if Nathan had tugged on Dizzy's thread, that would have also caused a paradox.
