Fire Pledge its cool too but it could bring a lot of negative casualities since its literally burn EVERYTHING around it and transform the battlefield into a literal inferno. To much dangerous in my opinion. Imagine if you are fighting in a battlefield in the Gym and then BAM! People get burning, field in flames and all kinds of nasty things.

I don't really care that it's dangerous, Fire Pledge is ideal for a particular companion of mine who's very good at controlling fire, should be able to prevent accidently setting people ablaze, lolz! Blast Burn's much stronger obviously, but meh.

On a similar note, there are definitely ways to abuse Fire Pledge's effects in battle, too.  The fact that the move specifically deals Fire type damage in Pokerole's rules is very, very notable.  And in League style battles, the people are usually a safe distance away from the action and the battlefield is kept clean and easily manageable so the pokemon can use their moves freely.  In an open field, though?  Yeah, probably don't want to use Fire Pledge.  Strong Fire moves like Inferno, Fire Blast, and and Flare Blitz are bad enough around large numbers of flammable objects as is.

Blast Burn is a big, Lethal nuke.  Not much more to it than that, other than those who aren't able to properly account for its recharge time are going to have a difficult time using it to its full potential.  It's definitely not a move everyone can use. (Well, it's also a symbol of the pokemon's bond with their trainer, but that's another story entirely)
