Maybe a flashforward is in order while we see what Shiva has to say.

It's mostly just some final words from Nathan to hopefully set the tone for what's about to occur for Orthros, Charmeleon, and Calam.  And maybe the others as well if they're also listening to the speech. Gallade and Ditto are still watching in the background as well, of course, though this doesn't directly involve them.

"...well, here we are.  Pledging to protect and help foster the growth of entire species...didn't think that'd be a promise I'd be making in front of a Legendary pokemon, and yet here I am.  Here we are.  Dragon, Fairy...honestly, it doesn't matter to me.  If I can help make a change for the better, then I don't mind putting in the effort to do so.

Nathan turns to face his Absol.  "Calam...or should I call you Dizzy?  I've been meaning to ask you that, but, uh...ya know, maybe now just isn't the time.  Either way, you're my friend, and nicknames are only but one way to express that.  I've...almost lost you twice now, and both times it was because you risked your own well being to save another's life.  No amount of words will ever be enough to express how much that means to me, to Gallade, and to anyone else you save.  If that continues to hold true...we may just yet achieve your full potential.  Arcanine here has decided to entrust me with that blue and white stone amidst all the eggs.  Can you feel it?  Can you feel the power contained in its depths?  It's an Absolite, and together...Arcanine thinks we can help make Mega Absol a more common sight in Creshire.  Help overcome the paranoia and fear by proving and demonstrating that yes, our bond is strong enough to manifest one of the phenomena that represents it best, all while we strive to achieve our original goals...we'll still need a Key Stone or a similar power to finally achieve your Mega Evolution...but so long as you remain by my side and I by yours, I don't think any of that will be a problem.  Right?"

The next part is a lot shorter.  Nathan looks over all the pokemon eggs, all the pokemon species, that he, Shiva, and Heart are about to take responsibility for.  "...we've got a lot of work ahead of us.  A lot of lives, both present and future, depending on our success.  Strength of heart, strength of will...we'll need both of those and more in spades if we're to both preserve these species and achieve our own true potentials...but I think we can do it.  Well...let's finalize this pact.  You ready, Charmeleon and Orthros?"

*bark bark!*  *wag wag*

Charmeleon holds up his fist in front of himself in affirmation again.  He's ready.




Orthros will learn Fire Fang from the Pledge, the only move from the list that he can learn that he doesn't already know.

Charmeleon will learn Fire Pledge.  Unless he evolves and is then able to qualify for learning Heat Wave and Blast Burn, Fire Pledge is the only move from the list that he can learn which he doesn't already know.

(OOC Note: tried to leave things a little open ended in case Nathan isn't the one who gets the Flabebe egg. The Fairy reference could be referring to Calam as well as Flabebe.)
