The foxy woman perked up at her mention, but she deflated a bit and started looking a bit nervous herself when you brought up the conversation.

"Yes, we have! We were just talking about.....stuff to pass the time, until you arrived. Isn't that right, Taylor?"

"Uh.....yeah, that's about right. Nothing much to add about that, really."

Hmm.....suspicious.

Your former? partner continued to smile Mareepishly initially, until you started questioning her, at which point she starting cringing.

"Yeouch. Frosty reception. Cold, piercing, and straight to the point, like Pyrce himself too. You're....not gonna cut me any slack, aren't you?"

"Not really going to let you off easy, no.  I've had a really, really interesting week you could say.  And right now in particular, I'm not exactly in the mood for playing around.  Can't say I blame Ms. Sterling here for wanting to get to know you and how I know you a bit more after a careless slip of my tongue, though, of course. Again, wasn't expecting you to show up so quickly, to be brief."

Just a quick stab of a guess/implication at the general topic of what they were potentially talking about or where that conversation was potentially headed.  Just a hunch. Though it could only be one of the topics they potentially were/were going to be discussing, of course.
