"You can use any Pokemon you catch during the 24 hour period. Each battle is 2v2. It's single elimination - just one loss and you're not eligible for any of the three prizes. No items or even held items. Fainting is allowed. No double battles allowed. Very simple battles, really."

"Hmmmm, okay...so being able to catch pokemon from the more difficult areas to explore could potentially be a big advantage, but more Disobedient ones could also be more of a hinderance than a help...are you only allowed to use the pokemon caught in that time period, though?  And you have to catch at least one or two pokemon to be able to participate, right?"

"Right. ONLY the Pokemon you catch during the tournament. I guess you'd need to catch at least 1 Pokemon. More will increase your chances. You can only bring six with you at any time, but you have PC access and you can use items in between battles to heal your Pokemon. Revives are pretty important if you have a smaller team. Nurse Joy can heal small cuts and bruises without any items (she can heal up to -2 pain instantly without any items being necessary). You only get about 2 hours between battles, not much time to rest up. People have won in the past with a team of like 8 Beautifuly with Giga Drain."
