Seeing as it's a relevant topic, my dad actually had some problems with having too much iron in his blood. He ended up eating foods with less iron in it, stopped cooking with an iron skillet...stuff like that, all to reduce the iron in his bloodstream. He was experiencing some aches and pains for awhile until he started actively taking steps to reduce his iron intake.
And he thinks it's partially connected to having very slight Irish descent, actually. One of my sisters might be having similar problems with iron in her blood. For all I know, it could be a problem for me as well in the future.
It doesn't sound like it would be fun.
I'm of Irish descent but my dad isn't. Weird!
