So, did a little detailed notetaking on the Volchik line's moveset, and I noticed a few interesting things:
- Each time Volchik evolves, the last 3-4 moves in its level up movepool increase in exp cost. Only those 3-4, though. And Brave Bird and Hurricane become Dragon Pulse and Outrage respectively after Volchik evolves into Voltasu (though the wiki makes that pretty clear, tbh)
- The only Dragon type moves that Volchik can learn are Dragon Rage and Dragon Dance (and only through leveling, even though DD is a tutor move in Uranium)
- As we all know already, Volt Switch is an unobtainable Egg move despite being a tutorable move in Uranium. But did you know that Megahorn is 100% unobtainable, even if factoring in canon pokemon? (it's like Lucky Chant Luxi all over again...even though that move isn't missed in the games anyways, and Yata probably doesn't mind not having Megahorn, either)
- All other Egg moves in Volchik's movepool besides Air Slash can theoretically be learned through other methods...except...
- Psychic can only be learned through breeding even though the TM for it has existed since Gen 1
- Hyper Voice and Wild Charge can also only be learned through breeding despite being tutor moves, just like with Volt Switch
- Voltasu is capable of learning Draco Meteor despite not being a Dragon type. This even includes learning it via Move Tutoring, not just through leveling! (probably leftover from when Voltasu was a full fledged Dragon type instead of a Flying type, tbh. That's probably why it can also start learning more Dragon moves from various methods after evolving from Volchik)
- Voltasu can also learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact despite not being fully evolved! Volchik can't learn either of them, though. That makes Volchik a rare instance of a pokemon being unable to learn the moves while both of its evolutions can (usually, if a pokemon that can still evolve can learn them, every member of the evolution line can) [Note: the Beldum line also does this with Hyper Beam, but not Giga Impact. Pokemon that received evolutions in later generations also tend to be able to learn both moves before being fully evolved]
- The Volchik line learns Spark twice. Once at 17, once at 33.
