"Hehehe...yup, it sure does bring back good memories...look at the two of them, all grown up and fully fledged Dragons now...heh...I've waited so long to see Kingdra this happy again...she's been holding this in for years..."
After a couple minutes of the two dragons' reunion, Reiner steps in to talk a little. "Well, while it's nice to see the two of you play fighting, how about we hold a REAL battle soon? I'm sure we'd all like to see how much we've all grown and maybe even changed in the last four years, right? There's even an easy to access healing machine in this building, so we should be able to properly and quickly recover afterwards, and battle with or without KOs, all without having to worry about going to a Pokemon Center. You could even show off your new(ish) move to Jeff and Lucy, Kingdra."
Kingdra trumpets in excitement! Yes, she loves using that move [Draco Meteor], and it would feel so good to finally show it off to someone who can REALLY appreciate its significance! She doesn't get to use it very often, but using it for fun sounds great to her at the moment! It's been ages since they've had a proper battle for fun where she had an opportunity to use that move purely so she can show off! And who knows? Maybe Kingdra and some of Reiner's other pokemon will pick up some other new tricks as well...
Then Reiner gets a tad more serious as he turns to face Lucy. "...but before we get to that...well, I have a question for you first, Lucy. Let me give Kingdra the rundown so she knows what's happened, first of all. She has as much of a right to know as the rest of us do."
Kingdra looks questioningly at Reiner again. Wait, what? What do you mean by that?
*faces Kingdra* "I'll keep this short...it was as we figured, Kingdra. Taylor found Lucy in one of the highest security places in Blackthorn. Specifically...she was being kept prisoner at the Secret Breeding Grounds deep below the heart of the city's governmental district, a place that's packed with more secrets than even the most secure places in the Dragon's Den. I'm sure you only need one guess to determine why they were keeping her there specifically. And from what Taylor's told me...Lucy wasn't happy about it, so...they forced her to cooperate..."
Kingdra's eyes go wide in shock, then she looks towards Lucy sympathetically. Fortunately, she's so happy to see Lucy again that the risk of her spontaneously Outraging is almost zero! No need for Reiner to worry about needing to intervene this time! Phew!
"...fortunately, Taylor freed more than just Lucy. She made off with some valuable pokemon eggs as well...and the Elders are probably still trying to recover from that hit to both their finances and their pride...and among the eggs Taylor vamoosed with was...this one." *shows Kingdra the Volchik Egg* "I'm sure you recognize the color scheme. Taylor gave this egg to me, said that Lucy seemed to be okay with me taking care of it, but..."
Kingdra looks back at Reiner as he resumes speaking, and she nods decisively when he mentions that Taylor punished the Elders for what they did. Good. The Elders shouldn't be allowed to get away with forcing a Dragon to do something they do not wish to, particularly when the Dragon does not belong to them! Do they have no shame, no respect?! Apparently not, or only very little, given what happened. First they kidnap Lucy, and then they force her to do...that in the hopes of getting more of her species? No, unacceptable! They deserved that punishment! And she certainly hopes that Lucy at least got to keep some of her digni...
...then her eyes widen a little in surprise again, and she looks back and forth from the egg to Lucy as she makes the connection. Taylor didn't get there in time to spare Lucy that shame? Lucy...laid an egg after all? And she's giving it to Reiner? Again, she looks at Lucy sympathetically, but with a touch more sadness and confusion...
*faces Lucy* "...well, to be brief, I'd like to hear it from you personally, Lucy, just to make absolutely sure. One does not simply take a Dragon's Egg without the mother's permission, after all. So...is it really okay with you if I take this egg?"
Kingdra's looking at Lucy curiously, wondering if Lucy is 100% okay with this...if Kingdra were to ever lay an egg, Reiner would probably be the only one she'd trust with it initially without needing a little (read: probably a lot of) convincing, so she's a little surprised Lucy is trusting her own egg to someone that isn't Taylor...it's not entirely surprising that 'someone' happens to be Reiner, but still...a mother Dragon letting another care for her offspring...it's a rare thing indeed, and a significant sign of trust at that...
