- In response to Hope's worry: Reiner gives Hope a genuine smile that'll hopefully reassure her. "Well, Weavile did just say he went to grab a snack from one of the other rooms, so it's no surprise that he seems to be hungry...*chuckle*...he's more likely to swipe something from a snack tray than to try and go hunt down a bird pokemon, though. I've known him for around 7 years or so, and I've had plenty of time to get to know what kind of pokemon he is. And I can definitely tell you that he doesn't hunt bird pokemon when he's looking for an easy snack. His tastes are much more...refined, shall we say."
- As for Weavile's response and Hope's response to it: "...go right on ahead and take a breather, Weavile. A friendly word of advice, though: Hope's probably not going to be scared of you forever, so you might want to watch what ya say about her in the future, lest she literally blows you away for making her angry. If she can demolish a room like this by accident without even thinking about it, imagine what she can do if she's actually intending to cause a massive amount of damage. And as for you, lil' one..." *looks down at Hope* "...I would prefer if you don't smite him, and come to me first if he makes you angry in the future, alright? We can all be friends here eventually, or at least be able to work together without attacking each other unnecessarily in the process, right?"
- Hope's question about who Mr. Arendse is: *another chuckle* "Mr. Arendse is me, Hope. I have a name too, and it's Reiner Arendse. You don't have to call me that, though...even though that is something I'm going to have to get used to, to be perfectly honest..."
- In response to Cathy examining Poe: Reiner has some important comments for her! "Found him and his sister living in an alley. His big sis was lookin' out for him since he's too sickly to fend for himself, but he's always willing to help out everyone else however he can despite that, and he and his big sis are practically inseparable. Guess he's not used to dolling out big heals like that, though. Feel free to look him over, but make sure ya don't scare him, or his big sister might be real cross with ya, Cathy. And trust me, you do not want to make his big sis angry. Of the two of them, she's the fighter for a reason."
- In response to Taylor: *nod* "Yup, still doin' the battle. I don't have any pokemon with Rapid Spin (as I don't think Defog would be able to clean up this particular hazard...not that Reiner has any pokemon that currently know the move anyways), though, so unless you happen to have a pokemon that knows the move..." *shrug* "...well, we're probably either cleaning it up by hand or hoping Mr. Mime has a quick and easy solution readily available if we don't want to try battling in this mess. As for rules..." (OOC: if cleaning up is going to take the rest of the encounter slot, then we'll probably have to just battle amidst the mess and plan around the hazards accordingly.)
- No trainer items for starters. No sense in using our supplies on this, right?
- I'm fine with no switching. Saves us both some trouble when it comes to thinking about who to use next, and it should speed things along.
- Battle until fainting would be preferable so we don't have to worry about overdoing it while holding back.
- No limitation on how many moves we get to use per pokemon.
- Single or double battle is up to you. I don't have a particular preference either way.
"That all fine with you, Taylor? Or do you have anything to add?"
As for Hope's exclamation in response to Taylor's condition: "...you don't have to prove to me that you're strong, Hope. I've already got a decent idea of how strong you are already. Besides, Grandmommy does have multiple good points. I'd like for you to sit this one out. I'll find ya a good battle when we get a good chance for one to make up for that, but let's take it slow for now, alright? Besides, if you're not participating, then you get to watch and see what other pokemon Grandmommy and I have sooner rather than later. Can't do that if you've been fainted mid-battle, right?" *chuckles once more*
