[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
So, here's a quick primer on treating Lethal damage in case you need one, @Mikaruge108:
  • In this campaign, Lethal damage is very hard to heal.  If an item or move effect doesn't say it can heal Lethal damage, it probably can't.
  • In this campaign, a standard Potion heals only 1 Lethal damage.  Super Potions heal 2.  Hyper Potions heal a whopping 7, though, and Max Potions and Full Restores will heal all Lethal damage, so they're much better suited for healing large amounts of Lethal damage.
  • However, keep in mind that using a Potion will then halve the effectiveness of the next Potion you use on the same character if you need to use another one before the next day begins (Ex: Standard Potion 1 heals 4 HP/1 Lethal damage.  Potion 2 on the same character then heals only 2 HP/1 LD.  Potion 3+ would then heal 1 HP/1 LD.  At the start of the next day, though, the Potion count resets).  All potions will always heal a minimum of 1 HP/1 Lethal damage, though.  The exception to this is if you use a Max Potion or Full Restore.  After one of those bad boys, all further Potion based healing is ineffective on that character for the rest of the day (save them for emergencies!). Another important, somewhat related note is that HP healing items such as Berry Juice, Moomoo Milk, and Soda Pop both ignore Potion effectiveness (thus healing the same amount of HP no matter what) and don't cause Potions used later to have halved effectiveness, but can only be used outside of battle and can't heal Lethal damage to compensate for being amazing HP healing items.
  • Lethal damage essentially temporarily decreases your maximum HP until it's healed.
  • If Lethal damage is left unhealed, the character takes 1 point of Lethal damage every hour.
  • A Stabilization check is Dex + Knowledge + Medicine - 3 (due to it being difficult), but it won't heal any damage on its own.  All the stabilize check does is prevent the Lethal damage from accruing over time.
  • The only other way to heal Lethal damage is to get professional medical attention, which usually means paying a Pokemon Center and/or Nurse Joy a visit.
If you're prepared for Lethal damage, it's not so bad.  If you're unprepared though...well, then things start getting scary.
