A Stabilization check is Dex + Knowledge + Medicine, but it won't heal any damage on its own.  All the stabilize check does is prevent the Lethal damage from accruing over time

It's possible to use Insight instead of Dext if you find an extraordinaire way to handle the wounds, practically anythingelse but the classical first aid. I'm silently waiting until one of Shiva's Pokemon receives lethal damage so I can try it out.
