Reiner closes his eyes and sighs.  "...if there's one thing I've learned from this crazy, crazy week, Taylor, it's that revenge for revenge's sake ain't all it's cracked up to be.  Particularly when said payback has a hefty, hefty cost associated with it.  Blood of Dragons or not, if ya let instincts like that control you entirely, they'll only lead to your ruin.  I accept your surrender, but only on the condition that you take a moment to relax for once in your life while you have a chance to.  No need to run yourself ragged unnecessarily."  It's actually quite ironic that Reiner's lecturing Taylor on this.  She used to tell him that all the time, back when they first met 7 years ago.  Reiner would train almost endlessly back then, trying to improve his skills so he could keep up with Clair...Taylor, being the easygoing, carefree girl she was at that time, though, encouraged him to take a break every so often, using those exact same words.  Heh...it sure does bring back memories...

5 or so years ago

"You should take a moment to relax for once in your life while you have a chance to.  No need to run yourself ragged unnecessarily."

The cloaked girl and the blue and yellow bird sitting on her should just suddenly appeared in the middle of one of Reiner and Seadras' training sessions in the rain again.  Seadra had gotten used to Taylor's appearing acts by now, but Reiner always seemed to fall victim to the suddenness.  As soon as he heard that voice come from behind him, he practically jumped 5 feet in the air as he turns around to face her.

"Gah!  T-Taylor, how long have you been there for?!"

A hand goes to her chin (presumably, given Taylor's head is currently hidden by the cloak's hood), and Lucy tilts her head in much the same way as Taylor appears to be doing as they both seem to ponder Reiner's innocent question.

"...hmmmm...to be frank, long enough to know that you two are working too hard at this.  Honestly, why are you training in the rain?  Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.  Ya need to be able to keep pace with your cousin and all.  Are you doing yourself any favors by training so often in this weather?  You're going to catch a cold or something at this rate."

Reiner shakes his head in response.  "...if I don't train now while I have the chance to take advantage of the weather, then when should I?  It doesn't rain every day, ya know, and I don't exactly have access to a Rain Dance TM."

Taylor and Lucy both sigh.  "...you've been training all day, every.  Single.  Day.  For 3 months.  It'll rain again.  I can definitely promise you that much.  Or I could see if I can 'find' a Rain Dance TM somewhere for ya so you can train when ya actually need to instead.  Probably won't be too hard.  I'm sure someone has one laying around here somewhere.  Just take a break already."

That purple, sparkly Seadra nicknamed Jeff pops up near Reiner's Seadra in the water and trumpets a greeting.  He's 100% curious to see if Seadra's training has been paying off.  Upon seeing her rival show up, Seadra trumpets her own challenge!  She won't lose to Jeff this time!

...which prompts another sigh from Taylor.  "...honestly, Jeff, you are not helping me make my case for relaxation here."

Jeff and Seadra simultaneously trumpet in protest!

Lucy's shaking her head in exasperation, much like Taylor also is.  What is it about those two that makes them so gung ho about battling whenever they're around each other?   "Alright, alright, fine.  We'll see if their training has helped them get any stronger, Jeff.  On one condition though, Reiner."

Reiner had been looking at the two seahorse pokemon, thinking that he might have actually gotten away with being able to train.  When Taylor addresses him, though, he starts again and turns to face her once more.  "...and that condition is?"

Lucy's smirking, a clear sign that Taylor is too.  "If Jeff and I win again, you need to take a break from training for an entire week.  I'll make this interesting, though.  If you win, I'll join your training sessions for a whole week.  'Cuz if I lose to you, I'm sure as heck going to need it since you'll have been doing something right, apparently."

"You're on!"

To keep it short, Reiner lost that battle.

Unfortunately for Taylor, Reiner's just as stubborn, and he's not about to just let her use those PP Ups to recover from her mistake.

"...save 'em, Taylor.  The whole reason I said we weren't gonna use trainer items was because we might need 'em.  Just accept the dang help and don't look the gift Ponyta in the mouth for once.  Particularly when it's gonna be costing me less than it'll be costing you.  You and I both know PP Ups ain't cheap, and I'm pretty dang sure that Mr. Mime helping ya is gonna cost me less than it would cost you to get enough PP Ups to fully recover from that stunt you just pulled."


Reiner (carefully) kicks one of the Toxic Spikes away from where he's currently standing.

"Darn shame ya didn't get to see one of my other Dragons in action, though.  Hehehe.  Those Toxic Spikes ya had Cathy lay?  Hehehe.  Oh, he woulda loved to exploit that.  Hehehe.  Can't say the the other non-Steel types I happen to have would have appreciated them, but they'd probably have dealt with it just fine.  Not the worst situation we've been in, after all."

"Heh....heh......ya....have.....a.....point.....there.....partner....but......dang....if.....it.....isn't....cathartic! This...sorta...behavior...from...me...hasn't...become...common....over....the...years...though....so...you...don't...have...to...worry...about...me...flying...off...the...handle...at...the...littlest....provocation...like....Clair...heh! Just...got...too...work...up...like....I...said. Don't....worry....too....much.....'kay?"

.....Your not sure how to take her remarks, but you can at least say she's recovering quickly from Fairy Lock EX, judging by how less laborious her breathing has become.

However, when you told her to chill out using her own words, she sharply draw in a breath in recognition......before she ended up collapsing on the floor in a fit of gasping laughter, her giggles intermixed with wheezing and snorts.

"Heh heh, *Wheeze*, oh heh heh....! Who *Wheeze* are....you....heh hehe, *Wheeze* to....tell....me....off...about....THAT.....Mr. Train.....Until.....You......Wane, heh heh heh, *Wheeze Wheeze!* Then....again......*Wheezes* if......YOU......of.....all...people.....are....saying......to......relax, *Wheeze*.....then....I....guess....I....should......listen! Heh....heh....good...times.....good....times. .....Thank you, Reiner. Good.....battle."

Reiner wins the Duel by forfeit! Him and all his Pokemon that participated receive 15 XP, except Arbok, who gets 20 XP as further compensation for his woes at the hands of Cathy!

Thankfully, your old partner manages to pick herself off the ground without assistance (if you offer none), so it appears her laughing fit only depraved her of breath rather than her health. 

Your insistence of letting Mr. Mime take care of her Exhaustion was meet with an eyeroll from her, but never the less she agrees with a huff. The psychic butler himself also nods to your comments, as he himself knew how exorbitant the prices were on such revitalizing medicine.

"Fine...fine....Didn't...want.....to......impose....on....ya.....too.....much....but....if....you...insist....."

She raises a weary eyebrow and frowned thoughtfully at your bemused remark, before her eyes sparked with realization of what drake you were referring to.

"Oh....you....have....a....Dragonair? Huh....yeah....that....would....have....sucked....to....deal....with. Especially...with.....your....training....back.....it....up. Man....what....other....monsters.....do....you.....have.....stashed....away....partner....? And....yeah....you....are....right...about....that heh...heh!

With that said and Taylor fully accounted for now, you turn your attention to the spot where Hope was spectating from, and found ALL her feathers ruffled up and crackling with twitchy electricity, eyes wide as she hoped up and down in agitation and fright.

....It appears that Rhyxemplar was not the only Pokemon that disliked the fae sealing Move. Better go calm her down, before she starts throwings Gusts around in riled up panic!
