It's difficult to defend about "Being a Pokemon Master is about more than just winning every battle" when the protagonist it's a looser for 2 decades. Winning it's may not be the core of Pokemon anime, but let's agree it's what need to have. 

Shame. But there is the thing about alternative universes right? The writters could use that as a excuse about Red enter by accident in one of those Worm Holes, fight Ash in the Battle Tree, beat the crap of him and then return to his universe. To me that's would be the perfect ending for Sun and Moon.

I refuse to acknowledge that Ash Ketchum as a counterpart of Red. I think he is more like a failure of a trainer with a cosplay of Red.

I say before I was saturated with Gen 1 reference, but if Gamefreak and Nintendo make this battle actually cannon...oh boy that would be a episode I would watch for sure.

Oi @Gamefreak, hire me to make the script of that episode. I would do it for free!

Nah, I prefer see him doing Battle Tree or fighting Red. Better that than see Ash do exploring shenanigans around Poni Island. What he would do? Mount in some Mudsdale then going play in some places hunting Twilight and Rainbow Dash? Spare me.

Also a shame. He doesn't win and anger us for his lack of reaction of loosing. That determination of doing such pointless journey it's both boring and with no real meaning. Only to torture anyone who watches.

Spirit, this isn't a thread to go on rants about how much of a loser you think Ash is and how pointless the adventures he has are.  Whether I agree with your points or not, this isn't the place for this discussion.
