Mr. Mime is registered to a Pokeball, unfortunately. He's a little unsure between the two options of helping, or escaping directly. If he comes with you, he's likely to run off at the first sign of trouble.

He points upward - can you show him the escape route so he can decide?

Nathan certainly can.  Carefully and quietly, of course.  With Gallade's Telekinesis and now less restrictive Teleport, getting up to the hidden room and showing Mr. Mime the tunnel shouldn't be an issue.

"As a warning, there is still security at the end of the tunnel, so you can't just stroll outside as if nothing's wrong.  If you want to escape now, though, I won't stop you, and I could maybe help as well.  We've also got friends waiting outside, ready to jump in and help if something goes wrong, and one of them's a Gym Leader who specializes in using Fairy types, so you could meet up with them after getting out.  If you want to help us out though...well, let's consider taking the pokeball you were in along, so that way I'd have a way to keep you out of harm's way. I could also maybe use the pokeball to sneak you past the security outside."
