He's just trying to account for the possibility that if there isn't a way back from wherever Shiva's gone, the group will have basically been forced to split up to make sure Shiva's not in any danger (or potentially rescue her if she is).
In short, it's intended to be a practical response. Can we rally afford to risk all of/most of the party on the assumption that there'll be a way to teleport back if we end up wherever Shiva is?

Nathan has a VERY good reason to be concerned about Oscar/Keni more than Shiva (One's family/technical and literally an old friend, he doesn't want to lose more family/friend, and Shiva is a competent trainer in her own right), and Heart should naturally know and understand why he is prioritizing them over her, given he should be equally concerned by the kidnapping of civilians. Especially since the longer they dwaddle in the base, the more likely things will go wrong and the more time the comet has to get here and FUBAR things, so all the more reason to commit to the rescue ops and let Shiva fend for herself. OOC , Iron would probably spell it out if Phantom ended up deading her chara or worse, and they (Phantom) don't seem too ruffled by things, so whatever happened is not THAT bad.
So.....don't lash out at Nathan, or at least temper their reaction to be less antagonistic . Have them want to search for Shiva, while Nathan and/or Spira continue trying to find/free the prisoners.
EDIT: Also, what Dragonstrike said too. He brings up another good point: charging into a situation blinding will just render Heart Out of Action/In Another Dimension (So to speak) like Shiva, which means you don't get to do anything else for the time being until Iron says you can. Curiosity got Shiva, so do you really want to make that a count?
