The cord not 'responding' to the Gauntlet's movements makes me doubt, but it doesn't directly have to mean that destroying one won't break the other.

If it can help us save Keni and Oscar, Nathan's all for trying it.

Given how the gauntlets have reacted so far, they seem to mostly just be there for defensive/monitoring purposes as far as I can tell.  The cord could have also been created by gauntlets worn by the Scims themselves/Almanac's technology/something else instead of being maintained by the gauntlets on the wall.

In any case, we have three problems to address here:
1. The gauntlets on the wall will likely start attacking us as soon as we enter the room properly.  We'll likely have to destroy them no matter what happens.

2. Freeing Keni and Oscar.  Oscar should be pretty easy since we're just dealing with metal bars and chains.  The real problem is that Curious Cord and figuring out how to break it.  The colors might be the key to that, though.

3. Doing the above two points quickly so we can Teleport out with the cards ASAP.  If we take too long, the Scims/Almanac will probably show up to engage us as well and make things a ton harder.
