Shiva hates the sound the alarms make, that stark contrast to the former silence, they're ringing back like a headache within her ears. Her head swirls around to the ceiling as footsteps arise, it's been a good call to retract the stairs - she can't really dwell on these things now however as she has to REACT, she readies herself like a feline that's about to pounce.

....HAH, snatched the documents from the corkboard successfully with fast movements!!, her eyes go wide and she frowns as one depicts the ethereal place she visited. For long that feeling doesn't stay however as she just makes it to evade an attack from the whip casted by the gauntlets, but the moment it goes for Keni she wishes that it would have hit her instead. There's no time to intercept though, neither for her Pokemon. She barely dares to watch.

Luckily however Keni appears all safe and sound, which can't be said for his desk which is now, eh....gone somewhere. A pity, but it could have been worse.

"They've got some kind of dimension control! They chained Keni up with...er... magic, I think, so he couldn't draw his way out! They cast all kinds of spells and twined them together!"

Oh, Uncle Oscar's words cause Shiva to perk up and try to respond, she has to rise her voice a lot to compete with the ruckus. "Magic, you say?" 'Good thing that Ven's not here', runs through her thoughts, "Oscar, you know or have a good guess where the source of this magic lies?"



Mechanics:
Decided against giving orders right away to await what Oscar responds to that question, it might make a difference.

"The wizards were here, wearing gloves and wielding staffs! They wove that rope using magic and left."

I'll anticipate your next question: "The gauntlets on the wall were added a few hours after they made the rope, as soon as Keni completed his first drawing. I don't think they're related to the rope at all. I've never seen them do anything except fire these beams!"

That's really about all you have time to discuss before acting.

(...Oh. Damn. Guess we have to disenchant this Cord somehow then, break it or either way dismantle it, but now a battle feels inevitable as gauntlets have 'spotted' us. If WE'd have gauntlets and staffs, if only.)

Heart was worry with Rose be almost grab by those magic cords. He was thinking in some way to pass though it...until he get a idea. "Those Scimitars might use those Gautlets and staffs to manipulate those Cords with a bastardized version of Earthpower..." Heart then increase the heat of his hands, with a few sparks of flame be summon. "Maybe I could weak those cords enough to let you free them. I have better conection to Earthpower than any of you."

Heart begin to concentrate. To use the bless of Jirachi he receive...and make a pray to Arceus and the young Moltres Egg he carry with him. "I never ask you anything Arceus. Please, just this time, give me some strengh to break those cords who hold our friends!"

Increasing Earthpower skill from 1 to 2 using 6 XP. Insight+Fight+Earthpower to break summon strong flames to break that cords and free Keni and Oscar without hurting them. Total dice: 9D6. Since Scimitars use Earthpower, and Heart have get the bless of Jirachi, carry the Egg of Moltres, and also have 2 in Earthpower, he might be able to at least weak that cords enough to able to his friends break. Could I do that @Iron?

Two of the threads take supereffective Plot Device damage and shrivel away at a touch of the Moltres Egg, its heat coaxed into powerful flames by Heart's Earthpower connection! The silky white thread and the vinelike thread snap immediately. 

Those other magic threads are going to require a lot more time to burn through. You should be able to burn away one thread per round in this way, if you keep succeeding on your checks.

As you begin spreading about the room, the Gauntlets begin targeting each character with an eldritch blast. Any number of the Gauntlets can work together in an attempt to ensnare you and your Pokemon in their nets, and they react to you immediately as you move.

Another whip hits the Moltres Egg, but like Keni it is unaffected. Various other objects in the room have disappeared with a smell of ozone and a little inrush of air, as whips hit them on their way to target the party.


When you toss something at the Curious Cord, it just bounces off. "This Cord keeps me here and nothing more. I'm more able to escape imprisonment than an ordinary man, if I have my paints."

Then you have to duck as a Sideways whip flies overhead.

Heart was surprise to his plan have worked well...but now they need to focus against those Gautles! Heart focus in the battle ahead and decide to help everyone. "Gustav! Rose! We must destroy those Gautlets right away and find our other compantions! Gustav! Muddy Water right away! Rose! Flamthower! If any of you get target to those Gautlets, dodge!" Heart then refocus to once again use the power of Earthpower to burn the cord once again.
