He tosses his Pokeball into the ring. A towering steel monstrosity, all spikes and edges, appears in the battlefield!
"This may be the only one of its kind in Creshire today! They say it has something to do with the Skull Ruins as well. Don't look into its eyes, Nathan! That's dangerous for humans to do."
Keenglaive always goes last.
The Leader's Last!: Gym Leader's Last Pokemon - Pokemon Origins
Nathan's not surprised. I had a feeling this was going to be Howl's last pokemon.
"Maybe the only one of the Black variety, but I actually know someone with a White Keenglaive. However, I've all but lost contact with that person in recent times, unfortunately. Anyways...Calam is a dear, dear friend of mine, just like Gallade. We've been in more dangerous scrapes than I'd like to count, and I don't know what we'd do without him. With any luck, after I visit the Skull Ruins tomorrow..."
Nathan holds up the Absolite.
"...I'll be able to Mega Evolve him, and show the whole region that Absol aren't something to be feared. Well, unless you get on their bad sides, that is. And trust me, you don't want to get on Calam's bad side."
Nathan looks to his friend, then to the Gym Leader, then back to the Absol.
"I think it's time to reveal our secret weapon. Crush them, Calam!"
ROCK SMASH 1-5
Acc: 15* - 5/6/7/8/9 = 10/9/8/7/6 D6
Dmg: 4 + 5 + QE (we already know BK is Dark/Steel from Atheneum) = 9 D6 base + 2 damage
Eff: -1 Defense (5)
The first time Calam is at -2 Pain, Nathan will say with a little flair while clutching the Mutios effigy on his necklace, "...even in the darkest times, there will always be light! And this gym is the perfect place to show that!"
Moonlight
Acc: 7* + 6* Survival + 0 Nature = 13 base
Eff: Basic Heal (4 D6)! Unless drawing upon the power of the many evolutionary stones in the gym could possibly make it a Complete Heal? (it would be 8 D6 in that case)
Note: Calam's moonlight wings appear in all their glory as soon as he uses this move! They're too bright to be hidden by anything but the brightest light!
If ROCK SMASH doesn't happen to be effective, then Moonblast is the backup plan (which would also reveal the moonlight wings, which would also be preceded by Nathan's mid-Round callout).
