[Meta thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure : Celadon City Vandels

You do you, man.  Mercy is a matter of perspective.

The way that Necrozma's story is detailed in the games, it's actually meant to be rather tragic.  A similar situation happens at the end of USUM, when the player happens upon the exhausted Necrozma in the middle of a freshly made crater on the way to the newly constructed League on Mt. Lanakila.

Necorzma is on its hands and knees.  Powerless.  A shell of its former self once more.

And the player has the choice to either leave them there and continue to the League (they'll always be there later in the game if you do, of course), or stop and battle and attempt to capture them.  Upon capture, that's when Colress walks up with his latest inventions: items similar to the DNA Splicers, able to fuse Solgaleo/Lunala with Necrozma once more, giving the player another choice in game.  And with the aid of a trainer, it's hoped that Necrozma can one day regain control of itself and maybe even a little of its power, too...

Of course, in the meantime...Necrozma needs the aid of a trainer in order to undergo Ultra Burst without absorbing most of the light in the surrounding area.  And as for Light That Burns The Sky...

...well, using that Z move requires so much Z Power from the trainer that it exhausts them, outright changing the end of the animation for the standard Psychic Z Dance.

They can barely hold themselves up after sharing their Z Power with Necrozma to execute its ultimate attack.  THAT is how much energy Necrozma needs to maintain its true form and utilize the full extent of its power.

And that form was stolen from it by people who wanted to contain its light.  First out of greed/selfishness, then out of fear when their containment methods began to fail.

The anime has shown that it is possible to restore Necrozma to its original form permanently without absorbing Solgaleo/Lunala (and it was originally a very benevolent being that gave light to all instead of taking it for itself), but it takes a ton of Z Power being poured into it simultaneously.  It took the simultaneous usage of both a Searing Sunraze Smash and a Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom on top of countless other Z Moves to fully restore Ultra Necrozma in the anime.

Oh yeah, and speaking of Z Power...it's theorized in game that the Sparkling Stones used to create Z Power Rings are shards of Necrozma that contain a small amount of its power, pieces of it that splintered off when it originally lost its brilliance. Which is why sharing such a massive amount of Z Power with Necrozma in the anime fully restored it to its original form.  Little trivia fact for you guys.

Personally, I'm rather sympathetic towards the Blinding One's plight.  It doesn't mean what Necrozma tries to do initially is right, but redemption is certainly possible for it.

That's just me, though.  Again, you do you, man.
