[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel
Alright, with Arial's storyline concluded, its time to wrap up Reiner's the best I can! Per his request and permission, I'll be keeping his end of things brief and mostly un-elaborated/heavily plotted out, as he quite frankly wants his and his character's part in my campaign to be DONE with. So, without further ado:

The Quickplay Version of Reiner's Final Acts in Celadon City!

Objective # 1:

Quote:Talk with Mew in private while Mr. Mime is helping Taylor get back on her feet, see how the mythical pokemon's feeling after the big kaboom and update her on what happened if need be.  Possibly also apologize to her again.  Depending on how that goes, that'll probably determine if and when Taylor finds out about the mythical...and how much Reiner will get to explain concerning why the hell Lance is probably going to be paying Celadon a visit...

This goes simultaneously quickly but unproductively. Once you secret yourself away to Archie's/Your Private Study while leaving Mr. Mime to take care of Taylor, on the excuse you need to 'deal with various things' , much to her irritated acceptance. She doesn't like being taken care of by anyone other then her Pokemon [or you, but good luck getting her to admit that now, hehe!] but since you asked for her to take it easy, she will. The thief's curious as to what you're going to get up to (Naturally), but she's leaves it alone after you give her The Look.

Talking with Mew....doesn't happen at all. Well, sorta. When you release her, she's completely out of it, and no matter how much you tried, she wouldn't wake up. The best you got out of her was the pink panther slapping your face with her tail and mumbling 'Five more minutes, Arkus.......' From what you can tell, she's alright and back to her old self, but using Genesis Supernova in her Semi-Sociopathic and Weakened State Exhausted her to the point that she needs to rest it off the strain for who knows how long. You're no doctor, much less one with specialized Knowledge on the healthcare of Legends/Mythics (Except Mew, ironically and debately enough), but you could make an educated guess she'll be out of it for at least a couple of days.

You also take the time to update The Merchant on Mew's well-being, and it took several minutes for them to reply, it was with 'Really?' , followed by 'Great! Sorta makes what I did a total waste of time, but that don't matter if Pixie Sticks is back to her dandy and mischievous old self! Call me when she's up, so I can chatter her ear off for a bit, hahahaha!'

All's well that ends well?

Objective # 2:

Quote:- Check on Emily, ask her once more what she wants to do about her situation.  Should she stay with her family or leave to try and protect them as well as herself if bad people come after her to get at Reiner?  And if Emily's leaving, is she going to tell her parents?  She's just old enough to decide on the matter herself in the pokemon world, technically speaking.

After 'dealing' with your mischievous Mythic, you headed over to Emily's room and let yourself it, and find that she was fast asleep at the time. You ARE able to wake her up, and get a Bewear Hug and cries of happiness and relief in turn, which ends up dealing 1 HP's worth of Damage because she was that excited/grateful you were back and alive! Egad, that girl has some muscles on her! Once you manage to get her to release you (And she stammers through her apologies), you cut straight to the matter of her future fate without giving her time to ask how things were going to you. That gets her to quiet down in shock/surprise, before she asks why you were asking that of her now.

Since I don't think Reiner let anyone know he was leaving Celadon City that night, he'll explain that to her, and why he has to do so ASAP. If he did, then he reminds her of why, and that jogs her memory. Regardless, she's......less than happy about what might as well be her big brother skipping town, and has a big sulk about it, which takes a combined effort between you and Poe to bring her out of it, which entailed some time reminiscing over/talking about the pictures she's drawn all this week. These included a few new ones you have not seen, like a picture of you, Kyubi, and Mew together, some pictures of the Eevee Siblings [With you and Reiner in some of them, and the last few of Ridia's Wyvreon Evo] some nice pictures of Mina and.....some pics of having unpleasant things happen to her, even more unpleasant things happening to Archie, The Vampire and Arial....well, some of the are bad, but later ones others just show them to look like menacing villains, some pictures of her flying, etc..

When that is done, the little miss goes silent for a bit, and unusually brooding look overtaking her, before she looked to you and decided she had to leave her family and her life in Celadon City behind completely. Just.....disappear, like a Ghost, and leave no word or trace behind. No matter how much she wanted to be with them, or continue  her old way of life, she just couldn't anymore. Not if being with them would put them or Reiner in danger, and after all she's been through, seen, and heard in Celadon.....she admits that she just wants to get away from it. It isn't the wonderful, perfect place she once thought, and the terrible things that happened to her, her friend, and the citizens there......it gives her nightmares, she quietly admits. Leaving it all behind and starting afresh while continuing her dream of becoming an world class artist......it sounds to good for her to pass up. So she won't. That is that. She's clearly feeling guilty about leaving her home behind for selfish reasons (no matter how justified they are), but she's also resolved in her decision.

Its....a fairly bittersweet realization, to find out the full extent of your interactions has left her to becoming much more mature, careworn, and disillusioned, yet so talented, strong-willed, passionate, and capable little miss. Had you not ever meet her, or decided to be a crook and rob her blind on your first Encounter with her, her life and outlook would be much lighter and carefree (Save for possibly you and the dastard Archie ruining her days), and most definitely wouldn't have died and become a Doduo-Human Hybrid. Of course, she'd never have reached her full potential or gain such a great friend in you too. What if, what if......

However, she perks up from her guilty/serious slump and declares that if she want to join you, Taylor, etc. on your escape and subsequent post-Celadon City journeys, explaining quite frankly that she doesn't feel safe at all without at least the guarantee she'll you sometime in the same day, and that the thought of being apart from her savior and who she considers a big brother now for a long time (if not forever) deeply troubles, saddens, and discomforts her. The little miss is fairly adamant about it too, you can see its very unlikely you'd convince her otherwise.

"Mister.....I wanna go with you, and I don't care if it's dangerous or not. I've....I've already died once, and.....it's not like trouble or weird stuff is strange to me anyone. If I can handle all of that, then....then I can handle whatever you'll face with you, no problem at all! I promise, from the bottom of my heart!!! So please.....let me join you, big brother....."

Omph. Well...what now?

Objective # 3:

Quote:- Possibly get Porygon's help with tech stuff, including desyncing the portable PC from the Team Rocket system (stealthily), maybe opening Archie's secret safe, removing any tracking on tech provided by Team Rocket (including getting a new phone/phone number?), etc.  Gotta cut those ties if Reiner wants to escape from this evil team.

Let's do some Roooooolls!

Desyncing Reiner's Portable PC!: *Rolls* *Rolls* *Rolls....* ....Success! Its now discounted from Team Rocket's network, and they don't know about it! It still works, too! Horray!

Breaking into the Safe!: *Rolls* First attempt: Nope! Security on it tightens, making the next Roll harder!
*Rolls* Eeeeeeeee! Nope! The safe is almost impenetrable now! Still, Porygon is confidant they can break it open, so you let the digiduck go at it!
*Rolls* .....and they did it! The safe was opened! In it was:

- Three Premier Balls, one containing a Shiny Manjugold, whose's arms were made of pure yet supernaturally strong Platinum and seemed to posses Regenerative Powers (Has 3 Disobedience, Knows Recover and has the Regenerator Ability; Could harvest its Platinum for $10000 once a day, or all of it for a boat load more if you don't mind dealing a lot of Lethal Damage to it and waiting a much longer period before you can start harvesting again), a Shiny Toxepex with Regenerator, Corrosive, and Merciless as its Abilities (Normal Stats otherwise), and one that just read as ERROR! TYPE - NULL, which had an ID lock on it (Disobedience: ?, Rest of Stats Unknown).

- A few strange coloured discs. They were labeled as follows: STEEL MEMORY, FIRE MEMORY, ELECTRIC MEMORY, SHADOW MEMORY, NUCLEAR MEMORY
- A couple of Big Nuggets, and several stacks of bonds for the Platin Sterling Banking and other miscellaneous institutions (You can't really cash those in, but Mr. Mime could later!)
- Two TMs and two HMs: one TM is for Mystical Fire ? (Can be learned by anyone/thing [Including Humans and objects]; Can be cheaply upgraded to its Delta or EX form), and one for Teleport (Can be learned by any Pokemon), a HM for Expunge (Can be Taught to Nuclear types [Obviously], Steel types, and Ghost types), and a HM for.......Divination? (Can be taught to certain Psychic, Fairy, Dragon Pokemon, and certain other Pokemon beyond that [Porygon line and Kyubi being two of them])
-Three BIG Binders of Information.

Binder One was about The NRF (Summary: Archie was a backer/board member that was in part responsible for reviving NRF, Has Detailed Information on its operations/research up until a week before the outbreak happened, and several notes of him reporting his own thoughts on the place, which were mostly optimistic and hopeful (he was a believer in Nuclear Power, and its benefits), and then angry and worried (About what happened after he lost contact with the place).

Binder Two concerned the TYPE - NULL Pokemon you got, detailing how he got it (From a business deal with Lusamine, in exchange for a BUNCH of Poke and getting some scrutiny off her back; You learn from here was also in bed with the Aether Foundation as one of its board members, believing strongly in its conservation efforts), its Biological and Technical Information (AKA: A few pictures of it, Its Entry Data, Diet and Behavior Info, and Learnset; No info. exists on its Evolution [Not that Reiner would know it had one, or anyone else, really]), and his general plans for it (Guard 'Dog' for him and Kyubi, as well as doing his own research on it), and a note that states that it doesn't get along with adult all that well at all UNLESS they are 'Made of the Sternest Stuff Imaginable', is neutral towards most other Pokemon (It does not like 'Weird' Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, and has a strong rivalry with Pseudo Legendaries/Strong Pokemon), but has a 'Remarkably Gentle' attitude towards children. Hmm.....

Binder Three......it has information about a Pokemon Criminal Syndicate known as Team Cipher and Shadow Pokemon in general, and a rouge offshoot of it known only as Dark Matter.  It mainly holds only speculative info about either and not a lot of concrete details (You can ask for those, if you're curious Dragonstrike), and several notes by Archie that.....ahem, show his strong contempt for the group, and how much he wants to see them destroyed. It also has highly experimental theories concerning how to cure Pokemon that have been forcibly been Shadowized , ones that Reiner would not know if they would work or not (But you know wouldn't). As for Dark Matter, there's hardly any info on them, save for this general idea: They're a radical and more philosophical/scientific offshoot of Cipher that is only concerned with creating True Shadow Pokemon, and they're apparently located somewhere in the Tohjo Region. Looks like Archie was doing his own investigations into this group, and it seemed like he wanted to bring them down. Unfortunately, he won't be doing that anymore....

-One large portfolio, which contains.......Pokemon & Human Relationship Activist Information. More specifically, the small but sizable/influential movements in the Unova and parts of the Kalos Region that wants to 'bring back the old ways' and both Legalize it, grant Tame Pokemon more legal rights (And Married Ones the same as humans), 'normalize' it and put hate crime laws in place that stamp down on the discrimination of those in a PH Relationship/Have such inclinations, and generally grant PHR acceptance once more. It details/reveals that Archie was quite the strong supporter of these and similar movements (No surprise there), and even details how he has a big personal bank account (And other wealth/business tied to...) + a secret small non-profit corporation of his dedicated to providing funding and supporting said to such groups there and in the Tohjo region (Which is by and large a hard 'No' to such Relationship, with the excepts of Fushia City, Ecrteak City [They're neutral on it], Mahogany Town [They lean Pro-PHR], and......Blackthorn City [Roughly 20 - 25 % of the population there is in some form of a PHR, including several of the noble families [The Arendse is not one of them, but Taylor's......they're not strangers to 'Riding the Dragon', but not on a 'consistent' generational basis]). Reiner would be aware of PHR in his home town, but I imagine he'd probably try to limit it as much as possibly, given the characterization I've seen from him.

Since he controls Archie's bank accounts and most of his business deals/deeds now, Reiner could pull the plug on the corp. if he wanted to, but that would significantly set-back those movements and hurt those involved/dependent on them. I'll leave that decision up to you/him.

Reiner's Bug Scan: *Rolls* *Rolls* *Rolls* Porygon found a couple of Team Rocket Bugs on your person (One was sown in your cap, and another in a sole of your shoes), and found one bug that was identical to the one you found yourself earlier inside a dark corner of your bag. All of them were fried, however, with Porgyon's Data Report (Sent to your Phone in Binary, which was converted to Common easily enough) showing they were damaged by 'An overwhelming amount of Radiation and Psychic Energy' . A more thorough check turns up nothing else, so you guess that's ALL the bugs!

Mr. Mime would easily get you several phones (One personal one that is on the bleeding edge of advanced phone tech, and several other cheap models meant to act as burner phones), and would dispose of your old phone after Porygon transfers the old data (that's been scanned, all spy programs neutered/deleted from it, and had privacy/anti-tracing encryption sent along side it) to your new one. Sweet!

Objective # 4 & # 5:

Quote:- Check on Kyubi.  Might need her to stay at the AV for a short time so Reiner can escape more easily.  The penthouse might be able to be argued as technically hers if Reiner is supposed to be dead.  If she has access to Archie's Teleport chain, then that could alleviate some transport concerns for her whenever she needs to go somewhere else.

- Figure out what the heck to do with Angelica.  Maybe have her keep an eye on things in Celadon for Reiner for the time being?  Having an eye in the city might not be a bad thing.

It takes you a little while to find Kyubi, but you end up discovering her taking a relaxing bath back at your room, much to your surprised embarrassment and her initial shock (She seemed rather okay with you being there after she calmed down....). I assume Reiner would make for a hasty retreat thereafter and wait for her to finish after telling her he needed to speak with her about something, much to her disappointment (You could catch her pouting as you turned to retreat). She'd get out of the bath promptly, taking her only a few minutes to finish cleaning up and drying off, before leaving the bathroom with a white bathrobe on in her human form. If you asked why she was taking a bath (She is a Fire type, after all, despite her.....uniqueness), and she'd sort of awkwardly explain that she just felt the urge to do so, and found out it was not that bad at all if she kept the water at a roiling boil (You make a note to yourself to never share a bath with her for any reason).

You explain that you have to leave Celadon City tonight due to the shenanigans you did at the NRF (You explain all that to her, which she listened with rapt and horrified attention - though she seemed especially interested when you brought up Alexandria...), and that due to that it might be for the best if he left her behind/in charge of their AV Suite for a little while until things settled down with him. Naturally, it looked like the fiery vixen disapproved of that plan strongly as you laid it out, as you very well knew how much she loved and cared for you, but then the strangest thing happened: her expression slowly morph into one of........thoughtfulness midway through your explanation, and she closed off emotionally speaking. You could only catch the faintest snatch of Insight and.......guilt, before they too vanished like a puff of smoke.

After about a full three minutes from you finishing outlining your plan and rationale for her to stay behind, she finally let out a heavy *Sigh* and slowly nodded her. She says that the idea of being separated from you for a long time pained her greatly, but in the given circumstances of both you and hers, staying behind at the AV would be for the best for the time being (She stresses that point rather keenly). The kitsune looked.....defeated and unhappy about her decision (The full and comprehensive extent of which is unknown to you, as you still couldn't get a read on her emotions), and you noticed she had averted her gaze from yours shortly after she gave her consent.

Once you fully settle things with Kyubi, you most likely would wish her farewell before turning to leave and conduct your other business in Celadon before departing, but she would reach and grab one of your hands, and asks you to wait for a moment, before she looked directly at you and quietly asked if she could have a hug and kiss before you left.

"Reiner......my Master.......can we share a hug and kiss, before you.....leave. I....don't know when I'll see you again, and I want.....I want our farewell to be sweet and wonderful as you are. And though it is not my right to ask you anything.......please. Please come back for me, my love. Please....."

Whether or not you consent to that all that is up to you.

With Angelica, the matter of dealing with her is both simple and entirely the opposite of so. Getting in contact with her and telling about your imminent departure for Celadon is obviously a bit concern/topic of interest/a cause for great alarm for her, and she'd be rather worried/curious about the whole deal of THAT was. I say Reiner would explain everything to her, as he knew that she'd never betray his secrets or act against him (She'd sooner bite her own tongue off and drown from her blood that EVER do such blasphemy against her boss/master/god above else all that must be revered!), and she'd be rather understanding and supporting of your decision.....until you mention the idea of her staying behind in Celadon. That immediately provokes a STRONG reaction out of the cop, as she seemed horrified and devastated all at once by the idea, and very nearly seemed on the verge of begging you to take her along, before she herself off abruptly. Then, after a few minutes silence, she speaks up in a eerie monotone.

"If its your will that I stay and watch over Celadon City, then it will be done. You word is my command, and I shall follow and adhere to it faithfully and without end. No matter what you ask. What are your orders, sir?"

Now that isn't creepy or guilt inducing at all. Its Reiner's/your choice if you fully enforce that command or not, and it's not as if she can disobey you either way, so.....

Objective # 6:

Quote:- Register Hope to a pokeball at some point.  A standard pokeball ain't gonna cut it for her, though, Reiner doesn't have much in the way of pokeballs on hand right now, and Hope's currently napping, so it might have to wait until tomorrow morning.  While I'm thinking about it, though...hmmm...how about a Nuclear Ball?  She is going to be a mean, green, fighting machine eventually, after all (and technically is right now).  Color scheme would have been better suited for a standard Volchik, but eh.  If there's another kind of pokeball that Hope would prefer, though, maybe we can just get it later/offscreen.  Or maybe Mr. Mime has something laying around that would be well suited.  I want to make sure Hope's in the right pokeball, one that fits her well, not just whatever the heck random stuff Reiner happens to have on hand.

You rouse Hope long enough to ask her opinion on what Pokeball, and when you brought out the Nuclear Ball she instantly made a funny yucky face and shied away from it, telepathically conveying that she didn't like it, as it made her feel 'sick and icky' just by looking at it. Mr. Mime is quick to offer a the choice of a customizable Preimer Ball for the Legendary Lighting Birdrake at that point (He's always around when you need it!), similar to that of the custom job on Adam's Pokeball. Hope doesn't seem to care what Ball she is put in (The Nuclear Ball being the only exception), so long as it meant she could stay with her daddy - though she seemed more partial to the idea of being held in a Great Ball, just like her Greatest Grandmother!

Objective # 7:

Quote:Concerning his meeting with Valarie: Reiner is a guy who honors his word, as any good Dragon Tamer should, so guess that means he's delivering the information himself (About Erika, her potential aid).  He won't directly join forces with Valarie, but...yeah, let's say he'll at least be willing to work with them a little in the future.  Reiner might have to go into hiding for now, but he still needs to protect and (hopefully) reform his home.

Heading out to the same spot you first 'meet' the Enigma, you wait around a bit before you feel something tap you on the shoulder, and you whirl around to find the man himself in the very attire you first meet him, looking at you with a faint gleam of amusement and satisfaction, as well as.....reservation. Bloody hell......how did they sneak up on you like that?

Anyway, you pretty much say that you can't join up with him due to extenuating circumstance, to which he quietly thinks it over......before calmly accepting your reasoning. He then reveals that its for the best really, as even if you did want to join forces with him officially, he'd have to decline, out of a concern for both his and your safety.

They explain that due your affiliation and the nature of your relationship with Ms. Sterling and Giratina, having you be a part of the Nation Guard would essentially paint a target on you and the peacekeeping organization if they ever found out about the truth of the former and just learn the later period. The instant they find out about either secret, The NG would put Reiner up for 'Closer Review and Scrutiny'  , which he explains is code talk for 'Put them in Lockdown and grill the SHIT out of them, then exploit for all their worth', which would ultimately prove disastrous due to Kyubi and Giratina most likely taking severe offense to that and intervening. Needless to say if that happened, everyone is screwed. So the safest course of action - the only one left, really - would be to keep those relationship and the hidden truths thereof hush-hush and maintain as many degrees of separation between Reiner and the National Guard as possible.

Finally, Valarie would conclude that it doesn't help that you had Mew nuke the NRF too, especially since the NG had a vested interest in containing and securing the location, and that while keeping you hidden from Lance in the NG before would be trivial before said nuke, afterwards it would be near impossible, as they'd scrutinize the heck out of EVERYTHING for several months, if not years after The Psychic Nuclear Incident, so all the more reason to keep you out of the NG. Oh, and not overly attracting undue attention from Dragonstrike, Zuryk, and the other Greater Gods of this world on to himself or the NG. That too.

Valarie says that all in an affable, casual tone and manner, as if he was discussing the weather over a cup of coffee.

.......You don't HOW he learned all of that (You could guess. though), and that very fact that he did and does with seeming ease put Reiner on 'Holy Shit! Levels' of wariness apprehension towards the.....Enigma. No wonder he's called that, and is feared all throughout the underworld......

Naturally, I assume Reiner would be reluctant to divulge any more intell to them now, but eventually they do, if for no other reason than to give more reason for the old man to not be on their case, and you tell him about Erika being a part of Team Rocket now, the strong possibility he could use her to help tear it down from the inside out, and his willingness to work with them in an unofficial capacity in the future. He doesn't seem too surprised by the former news - though he looked pleased to hear it none the less - but your offer of cooperation does earn you a couple of raised eyebrows, before he smiled and let out chuckle, and offered you a handshake to seal that deal.

"I like the sound of that arrangement, Mr. Arendse. A shame circumstances could not allow us to be more permanent co-workers, and together fight against the insidious tyranny that is Team Rocket, but I'm glad to see that you've turned over a new leaf, and making the underappreciated process of becoming a decent man. *Stroaks beard wistfully* Yes.....very glad indeed. *Smiles* Seems like you've grown much a lot since we last meet - and maybe a few grey hairs. Just like me, eh? *Chuckles* Just like me......."

Once you finish your business with Valarie, he says it was a 'True pleasure to meet you,' and bids farewell for now, though not before telling/warning you that just because he won't be pursuing you doesn't mean his grand daughter won't. If anything, she seemed more determined than ever to bring you in or take you down, after the utter fiasco of a week she had (He gives you an amused and meaningful glance as he brings up that part).

He then give you a gentlemanly bow, and walks into the deep shadows, vanishing from your eyes and senses just like last time.

That is the end of that.....or so you hope.

Objectives # 8 & # 9:

Quote:Concerning the matter of Lindworm, Alexandria, and Arial

After you get back to your meeting with Valarie, you meet up with the above people and discuss their plans for the future. Your fellow exile, despite being....worn out and still in some shock about Mew's power, wishes to keep accompanying you never the less. He simply explains that since you were going to break if off from Team Rocket and they were still in the same boat when it came to The Elders and Blackthorn's current litany of issues, their's no reason for him not to join force with you for now on. That, and he honestly didn't want to abandon you again, and would, perhaps, someday like to become your friend, if you could ever forgive him for his part in your exile. Simply put: Safety in numbers, strength in unity, and taking care of their own.

The bullish woman.....she's not too enthused with the idea of traveling with you, no matter how grateful she was for reviving and saving her - both things (if you could call what you did for her as such) she could never repay you for. After her.....extended time in the NRF, all she wants is just to have some peace and stability in her life for a long time. However, she does perk up at the mention of you possibly getting her a job in Tandor, as she too knows that place is practically the mecca of Nuclear Scientists/Researchers like her, and gives you a rather tearful thank you for still helping her, rushing forward to press you in a hug that has your spine screaming in protest! Oh, ah, the pain is like fire, and it burns! Thankfully, you get her off you after a squawked protest, which she does so promptly and with great embarrassment on her part, and quietly apologizes for her forwardness. I presume Reiner would allow her to stay at the AV for as long as she likes (He can afford to do that, and he's not an asshole most of the time) until he can get her a job/she finds one herself and is ready to leave, so I guess that's the end of that!

Arial....well, you've already taken care of that, so no need to speak more about it!

Objective # 10:

Quote:- At the end of it all...escape!  Should be easy with Taylor's assistance.

Indeed it is! Once you've tied up all the loose ends you can in Celadon (AKA: A little input on Emily's, Kyubi's, and Angelica's Scenes need your input), we can finally have Reiner say good-bye and get the heck out of dodge!

Since this is a fairly pivotal moment for your character, we'll actually play this scene out, and its exempt from the deadline (Since it would be dickish of me to just drop the Guillotine on your chara's storyline like that). When you're ready, just indicate in some way that Reiner goes to Taylor and asks for her to whisk him away (preferably with dialog and a little build up to/after it, so I have more to work with).

Until then......I guess this is.......

The End of The Celadon City Crusade Campaign.

It's been a wild and wacky ride, and I'm glad I could have you all on it.

Thank you, everyone.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
