You pay the thief extraordinare no mind (for now), and do as you describe......

.....and find Weavile standing on the other side. 

His eyes meet yours for a moment, before he averted them to the side and made an acrane gesture with his hand.

"......From the looks of it, he already told ya about what I almost did, huh?"

*Sighs*

".....Don't know what came over me to act like the total knuckle head and self-absorb grade A asshole required to make me a backstabber, but.....I felt my head clear up and realize how stupid I was acting. Letting my emotions and prejudice getting the better of me like that......

*Shakes head* 

".....By the Dragon Gods, that was really fucking bonehead of me. I'm an seasoned Weavile, damn it. I should be a smooth operator and in total control, and not acting like a angsty spazz. *Grips paws* Geez....."

The black cat looks down at his paws, before slowly looking back up to you.

"......I jabbering. Look, the simple deal is.....is that I'm sorry. Sorry for acting like a selfish idiot, and not handling things properly. Not going to ask if you can forgive me or not, 'cause I don't think I deserve it. Just......want to get this off my chest, is all, and.....still be your partner, if ya let me."

....Well, Beth certainly delievered. On both counts.

You notice that beyond the sentiments he just expressed (and a general sense of guilt/anger at himself), you felt nothing from the cat burglar. Nothing but emptiness, distance, and coldness. It was.....as if his heart was closed off to everyone except you, and even then only barely. Additionally, you could see/feel a.....Shadowy Aura cloaking him, emanating from seemingly within. From these signs and the recent reading you have done on Team Cipher/Dark Matter, you could only conclude that....

Weavile has become a Shadow Pokemon.

Such was the cost of Beth's intervention.

"...you're back, and that's what matters.  I just need you to do one thing for me."

Reiner pulls out that huge pile of berries, a dead serious look on his face.

"...I'm going to need you to eat all these berries.  Yes, every.  Single.  One."

(And yes, Weavile, he's serious.  Trust us.  The results may surprise you.  And a tummy ache later will probably feel a lot better than...well, feeling very little at all.)

(Besides, enduring something that minor is a rather...light scolding considering what you almost pulled.)
