If The Observatory is a part of the Kadabra Chambers/under the same effects as the rest of the place (Something Shiva/Spira could readily determine, I imagine), then Terra wouldn't go into it, and therefore wouldn't find that plant. Just because the current danger has clear in the chambers doesn't mean that the place itself is any less nefarious, so my chara. will be staying WIDE AWAY from it, even if it means he's not going to be getting any rest.

If The Observatory is not a part of the KCs, though, then Terra would naturally rush over to join/find items/sleep there.

It is. We're in the Conservatory, though.

There are three rooms from the old castle that make up the majority of the Kadabra Chambers, as Nathan could tell anyone who asks. The observatory, the pokemon training/capturing room, and the conservatory. All three are now cleared out.

Let me also interject by saying one thing:

We need to friggin' rest, dude, and there's nowhere else to do it right now without leaving the Skull Ruins entirely.

I honestly think you're overreacting to this a little.  The Skull Ruins in general are rather nefarious and mysterious.  That's a trait that's not going to go away any time soon, so we're just going to have to deal with it.
