Magneton can't possibly outspeed Abomasnow, but we'll roll Initiative for it anyways.

Abomasnow was ready for this!  This is the primary reason Candice chose to use the abominable pokemon over one of her other aces!

Abomasnow isn't out of tricks yet, though!  She flash melts some snow and tosses it at the trio of magnet pokemon!

Magneton almost carelessly launches a few magnetic explosives in Abomasnow's direction in response.  It's having a blast beating up these Ice/Grass types.

Gym Leader Candice has been defeated!



"I must say, I'm warmed up to you! I might even admire you a little.  You're great! You've earned my respect! I think your focus and will bowled us over totally. Oh, that's right! I'm supposed to give you this!"

Candice slides on over to Karen's side of the battlefield and holds out a hand.  A badge rests in her open palm.



Karen otained the Icicle Badge!

"Oh, and take this, too."

Karen also obtains TM 72 Avalanche and $8000.

"TM72 contains the move Avalanche. If the user takes damage, the move's power is doubled! Can you imagine what sort of focus you'd need to pull it off?  Not many pokemon can learn the move, so if you do get one, make sure to teach it to them, alright?  I think Nidoqueen can maybe learn how to use it with that TM should you find a Moon Stone for your Nidorina."

"So, was there anything else you needed from me while you're here, Karen?  Oh, and don't think I've forgotten about those Prints!  I definitely still want to hear aaallll about how you got those!"

This encounter was worth 28 exp total, so Karen gets 14.  Magneton, Rapidash, Lopunny, and Nidorina all gain 7 exp each.

32 of her exp will promptly be used for her 5th point in empathy! and 8 more (leaving her at 2xp) will be used for a second point in Fight.
*Flashback*
Karen accepts the Icicle badge gladly.
"Oh the prints? I got them back in Johto, and using my starter, Magneton (maybe Magnemite at the time the prints were gotten), Nidorina, and a Mightyena, that I'm glad you didn't have to fight, cuz I don't have much control over him and he nearly chomped Wake's, that's Crasher Wake, Floatzel into the afterlife."
She pulls out the prints and shows them to Candice.
After she leaves the gym, she heads to the Pokemon Center to heal her party and to swap Shellos back into her party for Rapidash.

"So ya beat Miss Jackie Frost, eh? Well, congratulation, lass. Didn't think you had it in ya, but I suppose you're got some real metal hidden in ya after all. *Quietly Mumbles* Maybe Old Fashion wasn't totally off his rocker, calling in this wee girl for this barmy job..... (I'll leave it to you if she would hear this part) *Shakes head* Anyway, I got business with that candy lass herself, so I'll be heading in to chew it out with her. If ya looking for something else to occupy yourself with, I spotted this.....weird looking cat bat critter arriving from Lake Acuity. *Half shrugs* Left Kogeki to investigate it or not while I handle the Gym, but if ya want to check it out yourself too, knock yourself out."

"Cat bat?" Karen is a little confused by that vague description, "I just might check it out, but first..." she leaves and heads to the Pokemart for a shopping spree!

With that done, she heads to the Acuity Lakefront where the strange Pokemon was seen and presumably bumps into Kogeki there.
"So, ehm... What is that thing? And, if you don't mind, let me try finding out what it wants."
If Kogeki agrees, she approaches the strange Pokemon and squats in front of it; "So little guy, what are you doing here? That's a neat little accessory you've got there." she motions to the monocle that it's wearing, "D'ya have a trainer?"
