Karen is sitting through the briefing, silently, sipping on her tea, she cringes a bit at when Ran lets the vulgarities fly, then when Rowan asks her that, she answers; "Uhm, a couple things, firstly; concerning the league representative, I understand if you can't tell us their name right now, but could you tell us more about them aside from their excellence in healing, and secondly, earlier, I had met Lucas (that ought to catch Ran and/or Kogeki's attention) and he didn't seem to know much about the goings-on; has he been left out of the loop?"

Name dropping Lucas would garner Ran's attention, though he doesn't react overtly that much. He looks at her and raises both his eyebrows in interest, before lowering them with a thoughtful "Hmm......" and focusing on Old Fashion again. So that wee lass has meet the boy champ, has she now? Interesting.....

Towards Ran, Kee replies with a simple "Oh, I can take care of mah own quite decently, I think~" still in that singsang-voice. "Trouble and misery tends to find me more often by itself than me looking for it. Must see me as an easy target or have a liking on me, but I don't reciprocate this 'liking' trouble's fostering for me at all. At aaaaaaaallllllllllll." He emphasizes this way more than necessary just for the dramatic effect, underlines it by slumbing into his chair even more and everything. "Raaaaaaaaaaaan, don't think too much about those children and youngsters becomin' a Trainer 'n travelin' the lands for badges and things, if they want to do that, let 'em. *waving hand gesture* It's not like they're harming us by doing so or such; as long as they don't, I don't mind. Don't half-waste your thoughts 'n precious brain cells on things ya can't change."

"Heh, good, 'cause Snowpoint Temple is a place of hard Knockdowns and no mercy, so ya best be prepared for trouble, unless you want it to double!"

"*Shrugs* Don't share the same luck as you do, fortunately, so I won't be compounding your woes there. When something bad does happen to me, though....."

The bristly blacksmith's hands clench into fists, and his gazes darkens as he recalls a particular moment of his life.

"....Its always the fucking worst thing possible. Tch......"

"*Sighs* Maybe ya right, but that ain't going to stop it from bothering me like Diam when she's hungry or wanting attention. Their shenanigans may not be screwing around in our lives, but it may very well cause conniptions or worse in theirs, and that's what bugs me 'sides the usual foolishness and piss-poor attitude and upbringing most youngsters these day have in abundance. Bah...."

The remaining are addressed to everyone.

"Have you heard any rumors spreading around Snowpoint about what's going on?  And have you told anyone about what you've seen while you've been here?  I imagine the city will notice soon enough if they haven't yet, but I need to gauge the current situation and report back to the League on it."

Ran shakes his head at their questions.

"Nope. Haven't heard a peep about what's brewing in Mt. Coronet like prison wine, and I haven't discussed anything I've seen with anyone."

Now, you might be wondering if the midget man is lying to Rowan, since he had pretty much blew the whistle on the whole mystery to Candice in order to gain access to Snowpoint Temple, but he isn't. He revealed what he heard and learnt, and spoke about the Murals and the whole situation in general, but not what he'd seen. Puck would be proud of his interpretation of the good old professor's question, he would.

As for why he answered like that, it's pretty simple: he doesn't want to piss off Rowan again with the truth and he wants to keep the info secret so that Miss Jackie Frost doesn't get swathed in red tap by Rowan/The League and prevented from running her own investigations/counter measures, in case and regardless if he and his co-workers succeed or fail in their job. While not afraid of them, he doesn't really want to anger them much more for practical reasons, and the more people in power/with resources that were working this case, the better, screw the secrecy and clock 'n dagger bullshit.
