Nah, it's just muddy and wet from being defrosted.


When Randolph cleans it off properly, he's unmistakably holding a beautiful, almost pristine piece of amber, something which would have been a rare find back in the days of Randolph's prior occupation, and it's definitely something that he'd recognize.



What appears to be a small insect of some kind can also be seen in the gemstone.


As for the rocks in the surroundings, now that Randolph looks at it more carefully...there's a LOT of different kinds of rocks on this floor.  Way too many types for it to be a natural occurrence of any kind.  The Snowpoint Temple itself (walls, ceiling, pillars, and all), conversely, is made of the same grey stone all throughout.

Diam is definitely eyeing up that piece of amber when Randolph asks her about whether there's any treasure around, not looking for any other sources of wealth/sustenance.  As for whether she senses anything 'supernatural'...she shrugs.  She's not entirely sure...

Upon discovering exactly what he found, Ran let out a low whistle of appreciation, a small but excited grin playing out across his face as he eyed the Amber.

"Well, didn't expect to unearth a beaut like this here of all places, but Ich beschwere mich kein bisschen darüber! Heh heh, can't wait to share this right sweet find with Roark.....*Frowns* assuming I make it out of here alive, at any rate...."

Translations: .....by pick and grit I'm not complaining about it one DAMN bit!
*Looks around, and notices what's up with the rocks here*

"Hmm....bunch of different kinds of sedimentary and igneous rocks strew about the place, but none of them match up with the either the local mineral profile of Snowpoint or the Temple itself. Plus, what in Heatran's name is a rock that bore Amber of this quality doing outside of The Underground, or some untapped cave system?"

*Frown deepens* 

"Yeap, this cinches it: something's kooky is screwing with this ancient icebox. Don't know what yet, exactly, but something DEFINATELY is. *Sighs, eyes briefly closed* Verdammt. Normalerweise bin ich froh, dass meine Vermutungen zutreffen, aber in diesem Fall wünschte ich mir, ich wäre es nicht. Tsk... genau wie dieser verfluchte Job, eine gute Sache verdorben zu machen....."
Translation: Damnit. Usually I'm glad my guesses are spot on, but in this case I wish I wasn't. *Tsk*...just like this accursed job, to turn a good thing rotten.....
....Aaaand there goes Randolph's happy mood. It was nice while it lasted.

He notes down his observations and stows away the Amber, giving his gemlin a narrow eyed look as he sees her giving the golden treasure her own gleaming, hungry eyes.

"Oy,Sableyes off me Amber, Diam. You got plenty of diamonds and some of those Gems to snack on now, so don't get any ideas of putting your mits on our hauls. Least, until I tell ya otherwise. Got it?"

Warning conveyed (and Amber put away), he asks her again if their are any additional loot she can find, and if she finds nada he thanks her for the help before she gets put away and Brigid is sent out again to resume guard duty/watch. Afterwards, Ran makes his way through the now non-existent Slippery Ice (or soon to be, if they're any remaining in his way that Brigid hasn't melted yet), and continues his investigations/exploration of B1. It's only just begun, but he's already uncovered plenty of clues himself that point towards ominous conclusions indeed....
