To further elaborate on his inevitable meeting with dead end, Ran let's loose a particularly annoyed swear as he stamps his feet at this set back.

"Verdammt! All that work and effort getting here, for nothing! Less than nothing, in fact, since NOW I have to retrace my steps and find another way through here! Verdammt noch mal dieses zerklüftete labyrinth!"
Translation: Damn this craggy mess of a maze!
Upon discovering the somewhat irate Jynx giving him the stink eye, the midget man's opinion of his situation shifted to a more positive bent.....somewhat.

'A Jynx?! By spark, forge, flint and Steel! Thought them frosty lasses weren't native here in Sinnoh , but low and behold, here be one standing before me!'

(He wouldn't know that they were native to Snowpoint Temple, for fairly obvious reasons, and Smoochum only Swarm around Lake Acuity rarely, so his surprised is warranted/justified.)

' ....One that looks like they have a Cubone to pick with me, by the testy expression she be giving me. Probably because I've been melting all the ice down here, if I had to guess. *Mental Sigh* Verdammt....this is just my kind of luck, good and bad. Welp, let's see if I can't salvage this 'fore I have to resort to chipping and Capturing them the hard way.'

His thoughts on this matter concluded (for now), Ran let's out a small *sigh* , takes off his hat, and gives the cold beauty an apologetic bow. He also recalls Belladona and motions for Brigid to stand behind him, so as not to further provoke them.

"Sorry bout melting all the ice 'round here, mam. Just trying to get through this maze to the next floor, without slipping and sliding me way into a rock and breaking something that shouldn't be broke. I'm willing to make amends, though, if ya let me. If your willing to join up with me, I'll buy ya some nice jewelry and some Ice Gems later when I get out of here, right away. A lady of your standing deserves such gifts, and I can afford it, so I promise you'll get what owed to ya. If you need more immediate compensation for your troubles, though, I got a TM for Avalanche I can teach ya right now. Heck, I'll do that for free, to give you proof that my I mean good by my word."

He looks back up to her, his stare appropriately contrite.

"What do you say, mam? Peace?"

Jynx looked like she was going to dismiss the apology for a moment, but she hesitates.  However, her opinion hasn't been swayed entirely, so she doesn't accept the gift right away.
