When Octavia wanders up, looking lost and confused, the Snover ALSO look rather confused once they notice her.  A shiny Sylveon isn't a common sight in the Temple.  And neither is the Lopunny that follows.

Unfortunately, Lopunny also appearing is a little TOO suspicious, and the Snover don't buy the act at all.  The Snover all turn to face the newcomers and the direction they came from, immediately even more wary and suddenly a lot more quiet now that they're on the lookout for possibly unwelcome company.  They aren't attacking right away since Octavia and Lopunny haven't, but they definitely look like they're ready for a fight.
