Since Dragonstrike moved on without waiting for my input, I'll say that Ran doesn't run off and does his own thing/investigations for now (Kee managed to 'convince' him to linger, if only out of exasperation with their behavior), but in NO WAY offers them ANY help or assistance with what he now rightly believed to be a hopelessly optimistic and bad idea. Not even when they failed in it their ruse, as he's content with leaving his partners and their Pokemon to deal with their the bed they've made as a harsh lesson for not listening to him and acting more cautiously/pragmatically . If those peaceniks want to do things their foolish way, he's bloody going to let them and hold the accountable when the outcome inevitably goes sour like spoiled Moo Moo Milk.
