...the ice shatters, and so does the lock on the chest!  It looks like the chest is barely being held together by old, fragile, rotting wood.  If the attack had been any stronger, the whole chest might have fallen apart.

The chest itself is not trapped.  Inside it is a TM for Calm Mind!

When Puck waltzed up and presented to him the TM for Calm Mind, Randolph was at first confused, as why in the world would such a technological Item be doing in such a decrepit chest deep down in an ancient Temple? Then he remembered that this place was currently a hotzone for the sort of supernatural activity that would allow for such out-of-place artifact, and shrugged off the discovery, giving his ironclad fae a pat on the head for his handy work.

"Nicely done, Puck. You've been a lot of help to me here, and I just want to say I appreciate it. Thank ya."

Randolph then returns Puck and makes his way back to the stairs, and once there (and making sure nothing unfriendly had wandered by in his abscene), he'll teach Diam Calm Mind! Now she has a method to hone her senses and intellectual in order to do even more tricksy things, we he he!
