[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery

As the group walks closer to the Sinjoh Ruins, their footsteps and Gene's cane leaving footprints in the deep snow, Gene talks a bit more about the Mystri Stage.

"The Mystri Stage only ever allows one pokemon to alight on it, and that is the Creator Themselves.  No other pokemon may stand on its surface.  If you wish to examine it in more detail, you shall have to leave all pokemon you own somewhere nearby."

Gene continues as the ruins begin to loom over the party.

"Of course, there are two exceptions to that rule: those that Arceus creates and/or allows on the stage may also stand there, and the Unown that serve Them are no stranger to performing for their master.  It has been a long, long time since anyone has set foot on the Mystri Stage, though...ah, we're here.  Well, feel free to look around.  I shall wait here at the door.  If you have need of me, simply holler."

The dark hall that the Ruins swallow up is before the party.  From here, it's impossible to see what's inside, long and dark as that corridor is.  Only one way to find out what awaits within...

"Huh, sounds like Arceas or the Stage itself is a touchy old bugger, if they've forbid damn near all their 'creations' from setting foot on it. Of course, that invites the question as to why us humans are allowed to prance around it as we please and Pokemon aren't. Seems a bit incongruous, if ya ask me."

Ran shakes his head and shrugs, trying to dispel the sudden feeling of apprehension he felt as he drew under and into the Sinjoh Ruins.

"Well, at least I suppose the hows and whys don't matter to us. So long as 'The Creator' doesn't strike us down for doing so, we can finish up our investigations and beat it to Snowpoint."

This is something that feels off to Kee, and he confronts Gene along the way with it (in a friendly manner and voice, he likes him too much to be mean). "That...suggests that Arceus themselves is around to watch over the stage, to take care who steps on it and such. Because, ya know, how are they supposed to know who enters that forbidden place and who doesn't if they are not guarding this place, or are at least 'informed' in some way about that...? This doesn't make sense."
(EDIT: That's an in-chara question. Outta-chara, I have a bold guess concerning this.)

Gene's response might be interpreted as vague.

"It is a rule that Arceus set at the very beginning of this world.  They haven't visited this place in a long, long time, but They do not have to be present to enforce it.  The Mystri Stage itself simply will not allow pokemon other than Arceus to ascend its steps."

The bristly blacksmith scoffs at the colourful musician's skeptical remarks, shaking his head lightly.

"Kee, if there's any weight to their Legends, Arceas is the bloody god blessed Creator of the entire universe and ALL that is in it. If they've the power or capability to do THAT, then they can damn near do anything they please. *Snorts* Wouldn't surprise me if they've screwed around with their powers before or after the Big Bang, just to see what else it could do. Warding a place off from tresspassers of the uninvited would probably be a very trivial thing for it to do, unless it can't work it's magic on a smaller scale than 'universal' 

Ran nods at 'Gene's' answer, looking fairly content with it despite its lacking of substance.

"Alright. See what I mean, lad? *Frowns forbodingly* For one, I'm glad o' God Creator isn't waltzing around themselves no more. This world of ours has enough problems  and issues futzing around and conspiring or outright acting to make life more interesting, and having them casually hanging around would just make it all a whole lot worse. *Shakes head* I don't even want to imagine what would've happened if those bunch of lunatics Team Galactic got their mitts on it. Probably the end of everything as we know it......"

That ending remark shut his trap tighter than a Tranpinch's maw around its prey, and he remained in grim silence as he toyed with his thoughts on Arceas. He didn't often think of the Legends that may or may not have had an influence in making the world, but when he did it was always a ponderous, philosophical, and rather morbid affair.

When everyone enter the room, Kogeki said to everyone. "Guys, be careful when checking this place. There is problably deadly traps like venom gas, spikes, boulders falling from the ceiling, guards Pokemon in this place, or other kinds of nasty things. Ancient Temples normally had this kind of thing, so please try not to die alright?"

After saying such morbid comments, Kogeki decided to check the yellow light and see what the hell is there.

He also makes another quick change in his team, sending Larvitar to his PC and bring Aspidocheles.

"I highly doubt that'll be the case, or 'Gene' here *Jerks thumb at him would have warned us about them all. We'll all try our best not to kick the can regardless, though, rest assure."

The interior of the Sinjoh Ruins is dimly lit.  Statues line the room's entrance, and a large, triangular platform covered in strange symbols can be seen in the middle of the single, massive room.


Floating in the middle of the stage, though, is...



???

In addition, three points of light sit at each corner of the Mystri Stage (but not on the stage itself): a yellow one at the top, a pinkish one at the lower left, and a blue one at the lower right.

"......What in tarnations, carnations, and damnation is this all about?"

That is what Randolph had to say, soon after entering into the chamber of Mystri Stage and seeing all the blatantly odd and arcane stuff going on right before his eyes, before he shook it off with a sharp twist of his head and a single 'Bah!'

"*Sighs* Guess that's for us to figure out now, eh partners? I'll check out that.....floating chtuhlu pipe thingamajig. Rest of you check out whichever of those lights tickles ya fancy the most, or anything else in here for that matter."

And so the dwarven craftsman marches right up on onto Mysteri Stage, and makes an attempt to grab....whatever was floating in the middle of it.
