[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Quote Rowan: ' "This Absol was actually hatched around 8 years ago. I'm sure I don't have to explain the significance of that specific time to you, Randolph. In any case, they were the subject of some of my research a few years ago, but that has long since concluded. They're a paranoid sort, and not particularly trustworthy, so I've never been able to fully earn their trust. They are, however, well trained and will usually attempt to warn trainers of coming disasters, even if it means running off on their own initially to try and stop them. The poor thing's been causing quite a fuss lately, probably due to the issues at Mt. Coronet. Maybe getting out and about and doing something about it will help them calm down, though." '

"*Shakes Head* No, ya don't. Know all too well what happened way back then.... (...) *Raises Eyebrow* The Absol you giving me is Skittish, Leerly, and a big o' jumpy wolf, eh? ...Heh heh, good. That's EXACTLY what I was wanting out of one them Dark oracles, for this Shiftry and thoroughly dubious and DOOM filled hazardous storybook quest job of mine has shaped up to be! More spritely, vigilant, and proactive they are about miss fortune and papa disaster paying all us a visit, the better. Them buggering off to deal with things themselves is a problem, but I can always have my Chatot or Scarmory chase after them and lend a wing to them, if need be. *Snorts* Or ;bail out their snow white furry arse if they really get themselves dug in a whole heap of trouble."

Randolph proceeds to his new Absol on his belt, sending back Puck to the PC to make room for them, and nods to Rowan.

"I'll start with getting to know them later, maybe in the morning or before bed. That's for the future, though. Been a pleasure doing business with ya, professor. Hopefully I'll survive this perilous expedition and can do more for you in the future. Also, I still need to talk with ya, but not now. In the morning, if you don't mind."

Quote Nurse Joy: ' "Apologies for interrupting, but I need to have a word with Mr. Schmidt." (...) "Unfortunately, I've received word that the shipment of neuro sensors was delayed. They're still expected to arrive by tomorrow morning, but I cannot make any guarantees. They're being shipped by land instead of sea, and the blizzards on Routes 216 and 217 have been stronger than usual lately if what I've heard from passing trainers lately is accurate." '

Of course the bristly blacksmith would speak with the Nurse in private, and when she finishes he can't help but let loose a short but vivid bit of profanity at the news.

"Verdammter Sturm des Höllenfeuers !!!......Rrrrrr, that is NOT wanted to take me unawares like the Sneasil 'round, though I expect the same can be said for you too. *Frustrated Sighing* .....Well, nothing can be done about it, I suppose. Me or my partners aren't shipping out of Snowpoint 'til tomorrow morning at our earliest, so I can wait that long to see if those dang Neuro Sensors are coming. If they don't, there's a good chance we'll find the shipment and get my share of it on the way through those Routes. Should that end up happening, mind giving me an signed docco of sorts so I can get what's mine without a fuss?"

Regardless of how's that sorted out, Ran has a few things left to do tonight before he could head off to bed. They are as follows:

- Get on his PC and check/call to see if Roark's up. If he is, then he has this to say: "Hey, ya Rock Head! Did ya get your gift, or it get lost in the data stream? Anyway, I got a favor to ask ya, if you can swing it. See, I managed to dig up a fine piece of Amber up here in Snowpoint Temple somehow - Long story, I'll tell ya later - and I was wondering if ya can get it check out for me at the Museum and see if anything can be Revived from it, and then place it in me PC? Can't exactly Fly down over there to do it myself as ya know, so if you can handle this business for me that be appreciated. Think you can do it?"

If they are NOT up, he'll send them The Amber and the above messages attached to it, as well as the contingency of if they can't get it Revived for them to keep a hold of it for him until later.

Additionally, he'd send one of his A-Sandshrews to Bryon as an additional gift to them, as he well knows they'd be interested in owning a rare Steel type. The message accompanying the gift would be simply thus: "Found plenty of these frosty little critters, so I thought I'd share one with ya. Hope ya enjoy their cold company, Alman!"

- He'll pay Snowpoint Gym and Candice a visit ASAP, partly because he wants to check in with her so she can know he got out of the Temple alive, and partly to offer her a deal. The meeting go something like this: "Hey Jackie Frost! Me and my partners made it out of that Temple of yours finer like a a point of a pin, so ya don't have to worry about dragging our mummified corspes out of there, or what's left of them. Came out of there more than I went in too, so I'm just in fine condition all around, hah hah! In fact, I wrangled a few Pokemon of your favorite Types, and I'd be willing to part with a few of them if we can come to an agreement....."

Specifically, he'd offer her his last A-Sandslash in exchange for either a Ice TM of some sort (Blizzard, ideally, but Frost Breath, Ice Beam, or the like would not be turned down either) and/or teaching one of his Pokemon Rock Climb (If any, and if she has an HM/Tutor for the Move), OR a Rare Held Item on my Wish List and/or a Scope Lens for Absol (If it would stack with Super Luck and/or his future Crit Moves). He'll throw in a couple of A-Sandshrews in, if them + the A-S.Slash would get him a TM/Rock and Rare Held Item/Scope Lens. If not, he'll still give her one A-S.Shrew as a freebie/nice gift.

He'd also fully update her on what he turned up in Snowpoint/the Sinjoh Ruins after the deal was over (As he SO wants to keep her in the loop, and he feels he it be rude/irresponsible of him NOT to tell the overseer of Snowpoint Temple what went down and around it), and hear her take on it. Save the serious business for last, so as not to spoil the mood from the start, and all that.

- Straight after the visit to the Gym, he'd hit up any Scarp/Metal Shop and buy at least twice the amount of materials needed to build Kogeki's Robo Prosthetic, as well as a sufficient amount of metal (various kinds) to cover any sort of Crafting projects he gets up to on the job, and then go to a hardware store to purchase the equivalent of Sundry Goods/Adventurer Tools you'd find available in DnD , just to be sure he has EVERYTHING he could possibly need for the journey up ahead. Normally he wouldn't be this paranoid about preparations, but after Snowpoint Temple.....need I say more?

- Finally, he'd stop by the Pokemart to restock on the supplies he spent in Snowpoint Temple, though I'll hold off on what he purchases until I see how much it'll cost him to get all the metal/supplies he wants.

That should be it! Now, let him get down with his busy old self!
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
