"...you know, Juni said something similar.  She said she and her Alakazam had a bond of some kind, one that we'd never understand...in the aftermath of it all, though, I honestly didn't see it.  Far as I could tell, Alakazam didn't really have any kind of special bond with her.  It's funny that you phrase things that way, however, because from what I know, you Scimitars never actually ask your pokemon whether they want to do anything...you just...well, do it, whether they want to or not."

Another sigh from Nathan as he continues.

"...I took on the responsibility of caring for one of the pokemon that Juni had on her person when we brought her in.  A Sceptile.  You know what the first thing he did when I first met him was?  Go on, guess.  I'm curious to hear what you think."

She breaks. "Who cares?! Why are you telling me this? Why, in the middle of an apocalypse, are you so concerned about the well-being of Pokemon you don't even know? They aren't pets to us Scimitars. They're... employees. They have no say in the matter, and what they want doesn't count for shit."
