Hmm, maybe try soft talk with the person who is selling? Is a woman or a man who is selling? I could use Perform as a stat to do it. But since I have 0, can I at least put 2 points in Perform to not be a complete failure? I have 26 XP, so I could put 1 or 2 points. Ninjas usually use deception or talk in some cases.

That could be one of two checks: Etiquette if you're being genuinely polite, or Perform if you're trying to put on an act/deceive them. It could also be Allure I suppose, though the clerk is a guy.
