Being no half-wit by any means, Ran immediately picks up the kindly crone had some sort of inkling about what was up with the kooky weather/Weather that's been plague the area lately, and decides to lightly press her about it. After he thanked the woman for her hospitality and some small talk, of course. You don't leap headlong into such things when your a quest, you know! Ain't proper etiquette or respectful to do so!

"Glad to hear that, and thank ya again for letting me in. Really appreciate it, ESPECIALLY with how blisteringly chilly it is outside. I heard and knew it was frosty up here in these parts, but I didn't imagine it'd be so gottverdammt  intolerably frigid! Heck, the weather outside is giving me Ice Types the shivers! If that ain't unusually cold, I don't know what could be!"

*Huffs, before calming down*

".....Sorry 'bout that outburst, but as ya can already tell, I'm no fan of these chilly climes, unlike a certain pig-tailed Gym Leader. Don't know how she can tolerate it in that skimpy get-u[ of hers and be so damn cheerful, but that's young one for ya. Always quick to adapt and adjust to darn near anything, even if they do it in the most hair brained of ways. Bah...."

Once he fully settles down and finishes venting, finally cuts to the chase.

"Enough of my gripping, though. Got anything to say yourself about this? Sounds like you got a clue to what's up and lurking behind, which is more that what I or my partners can say for certain right now..."

As for own question, he answers it easily enough.

"Yes mam, and you're correct. Me and my partners are heading their to investigate old Coronot after hearing all the wacky and strange claims being bandied about it lately, and see if we can't do something about it if those people jabberings have some Nugget of truth to them. Any advice or news about the mountain you can share you'd think lend us a Helping Hand?"

The old lady chuckles.  "Oh, that's alright, dearie.  The cold ain't for everyone.  Even Candice has days where she needs to wear a sweater, you know.  A day like today would probably be one of those times, in fact."

She chuckles again when Randolph asks if she knows something, and if she has any advice or news concerning the mountain.  "My, my, you certainly don't beat around the bush, do you?  Well, I'm afraid I don't know much about the mountain itself.  Don't usually go up there, you see.  The area around here, though...yes, I do know a thing or two."

She picks up the kettle and sets it on the table, then pours herself a cup of what looks like...tea, maybe?

"Before I get to that, though, I wish to ask you something: could you help a little old lady with a teensy weensy little problem?  It's a simple request, I can assure you. And I also have a little gift for you if you agree to my proposal."
