The old lady chuckles.  "Oh, that's alright, dearie.  The cold ain't for everyone.  Even Candice has days where she needs to wear a sweater, you know.  A day like today would probably be one of those times, in fact."

She chuckles again when Randolph asks if she knows something, and if she has any advice or news concerning the mountain.  "My, my, you certainly don't beat around the bush, do you?  Well, I'm afraid I don't know much about the mountain itself.  Don't usually go up there, you see.  The area around here, though...yes, I do know a thing or two."

She picks up the kettle and sets it on the table, then pours herself a cup of what looks like...tea, maybe?

"Before I get to that, though, I wish to ask you something: could you help a little old lady with a teensy weensy little problem?  It's a simple request, I can assure you.  And I also have a little gift for you if you agree to my proposal."

Ran resists the urge to get more snippish at his crone hostess when she gets a kick out of his cold-induced misery and launch into another tirade about the horrendous weather and lack of sensibilities of youth these days, and instead opts to let out a slightly irritable *Sigh* and slumps in his seat, grumbling a bit too while he was at it.

"....Should be a crime against nature for it to be so arsch scheuernd kalt, and no man nor Pokemon should suffer it. Bah.....!"

He does straighten up when she laughs at him being direct as a kick to a head, and her commenting as such is meet with a sort of gruff, blase, and unapologetic attitude on his part.

"No, I don't. Least, when it comes to important and series business, or things concerning me and my own. Time spent dilly dallying to the point of such is time wasted that I ain't getting a rebate for, 'less there's no way for me to get at an issue quick as a Rapidash *Snorts* Or on the off chances the prattling or diversion actually turns out to be worth a damn and a half, but that's so rare for me that its like stubbing on a Nugget on the way to the store."

At her confirmation that elderly woman at least and indeed does know what's going on the area, the bristly blacksmith's attention is fully piqued, and her solicitation of a favor for her Knowledge is meet with honest surprise. Not because she was making such a deal, no, but because....

"Huh....funny ya asking for me help, 'cause I was going to offer it myself for the hospitality you've given me. Hmpt....that, and putting up with my grumpy o'l self , no matter how short a time that's been. I ain't the easiest to get along with as most people would say, much less be generous with, so I'm happy to provide ya any kind of help I can give, with or without reward. *Huffs* Now, what'cha be needing me to do? If its repairs or making you something, I can get that done in a jiffy."
